Gun control debate (merged)

The right sees things, such as a son playing with mama’s lipstick tube while joking he’s a girl like mommy, and thinks “Silly boy! What are doing? Put mommy’s lipstick down.”

The left sees the same thing happening and thinks “Oh, our little Jack is actually a Jill! We should cut off his penis, buy him new clothes, and force the rest of society to buy-in to our ridiculousness!” Then the Democrat ran executive branch comes along and tells all parents they should do the same!

Recap, the left sees things as they are, and figures out a way to completely F it all up!
Totally ridiculous. You sound like a right-wing indoctrinated zombie.

And you sound like an out of touch grandpa.

If anyone is stuck in the past on this board, it is you brother. You need to look up and realize your party has been hijacked by far-left cultural Marxist that are poisoning our society with their ideology.

And goofy Luther, along with an army of useful idiots, support their cause because they are stuck in the past truly believing they are the party of Kennedy! No dude, y’all are the party fluid genders, men menstruating, all the while pushing America one step closer to communism every single day.

lol.....how mindless can you be? Do you even realize how much you have been zombified?

He's losing his x/y bs argument and has resorted to nukes and people that live on their own property outside a city limit are ignorant because we don't understand why people live stacked on top of each other.
He's a classic example of these unhinged wackos, just moves onto the next crazy thing.

Even Barney figured out he needed a gun with at least one bullet.

The left sees things as “how they should be” and of course that’s according to their own wishes.
Everyone else sees things as how they are.

Take this issue for example. The left thinks making it harder for law abiding citizens to get guns will somehow reduce gun violence. While everyone else knows that will just emboldened criminal behavior. Violence doesn’t decrease where gun control is enacted. It just changed the method of attack but very little changes in the actual rate. However government tyrannical behavior always goes up in those places

The point to a spot on the horizon and say "Wouldn't it be nice if X?" is strong with many on the left. Setting aside whatever would be "nice" is entirely something predicated on their preferences let's assume we can all kind of agree sure, that'd be "nice". They engage feels and start plowing ahead with little (or no) apparent pause to ruminate on the wider implications. Inclusiveness sounds nice but we get a dude nominated for NCAA "Woman of the Year" and CA pushing for an EV only mandate while literally having to ration electricity. (Just two examples)

The Left does tend to operate more with the assumption that people will do the right thing, and the majority will.. but the outliers are the fly in the ointment.. and some people, I believe, are just beyond being rehabilitated (that is why a lot of us in healthcare tend to be more right leaning.. we see the worst (and best) humanity has to offer every day. And when you go ‘ok, this is acceptable’ it creates a slippery slope where nobody really wants to go 😂

And it washes away individuality which leads to problems like violence as society tries to round peg square hole everyone.

When you tell everyone they are part of society and then dont provide room for individuals it creates tension and problems.
Are you trying to prove my point?
Provide room for all individuals?
Trying to round peg square hole everyone?

I think you got your sides mixed up.

The left sees things as how they are compared to how it should be.
The right sees things as how they are compared to how it use to be.

Close . One see all the things they want as progression , the other as regression .

Some valid points
The flip side.
People who work in education also see the worst (and best) humanity has to offer every day (in great numbers), and I believe this is why educators tend to be more left leaning. When you see something that society has proclaimed unacceptable everyday and the unjustifiable damage that is being done to innocent individuals. you realize it should absolutely be acceptable

Society says everyone has to be a part of it, and that everyone has to act a certain way within that society even if said actions have no impact on society.

Society makes no effort for the individual. It's why you are comfortable eroding personal rights, to you an individual doesnt matter outside their belonging to society. You and society puts society in front of the individual.

Which is why governments will always get away with atrocities, always. Who cares that the government gave an African American community syphilis and didnt treat them? it allowed society ot learn. That would never happen if the individuals came first.

The greater good tries to take care of small problems but encourages larger ones. Society lies and says the big problems arent possible anymore, we are better, more advanced, we learned. But the larger society grows the more comfortable it gets with rounding out people that dont exactly fit, and as it grows more powerful it can do worse and worse things. A disarmed individual has no way to reject the coming atrocity as their individuality doesnt matter to the societal whole. Society requires a dependent population that cant operate outside the society so that all those round pegs have to be shaped to fit the square holes.

Look at this for instance, how does your society allow for gun owners? You have another poster in this thread pushing for a national gun buy back program for all guns. That's not accepting. You also want to tell us what guns we can buy, how many we can buy. Restrictions you would never accept on the rest of society. In this case you want to get rid of an individuality you dont accept through a process of erosion. Largely because you dont want to admit to yourself that individuals matter, and so do their rights.

We are influenced by what we see everyday, it is our experience, agreed on that.. the
Memphis guy apparently never made it to the ninth grade, so I don’t know what happened there.. being able to discuss things rationally on both sides would be a good start, I think
