Not a chance in hades if republicans ever want to be elected back into Congress . Did you see the language in that bill ? “ semiautomatic weapons “
But remember they AREN'T coming after your guns.

"For example, all semi-automatic rifles that can accept detachable magazines and have a pistol grip, a forward grip, a grenade launcher, a barrel shroud, a threaded barrel or a folding, telescoping or detachable stock are subject to the ban"

Wtf is the issue a barrel shroud? How would that ever increase lethality, ease of hiding, rate of fire or whatever they are worried about.

And I am also pretty sure every rifle will have a threaded barrel.

Any chance this bill passes the senate? Nothing will surprise me at this point.

House 'assault weapons' ban approved by 18 vulnerable Democrats

Never underestimate the ability of the spineless RINO Republicuck scum to cave to the left. It’s almost as if they enjoy losing. Hell, 10 of them voted in the senate for the last piece of gun control garbage and were thinking the leftist filth would be satisfied. Never give leftist filth a damn inch!

I think the language is purposefully vague enough that it would make semi-auto handguns illegal as well. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the senate uses the nuclear option to get this passed.

Barrel shrouds , braces, and grips are just low hanging fruit for politicians that know little about firearms and their supporters who know even less or care what they are .

I would love someone to explain why a folding brace, grip, or suppressor somehow makes a gun more dangerous. They look scary to some people, that's all.

The ones that want to ban them don’t care what they are , most just see and hear the big scary looking “ military weapon of war “

Yes I did see that. Our government is quickly becoming the enemy of normal citizens who only want to provide for and protect our families. (And be left alone)

No chance in hell. This is a midterm posturing bill, as the House Dims well know. As worded, the guys who "aren't coming for your guns" would outlaw probably 50% of new gun sales and possession, including the most popular hunting rifles.
In years past, I would agree. But after seeing the mask/vaccine mandate stuff, all the shenanigans with the last election and the 1/6 commission, I think so much has changed that those who want to outlaw guns know they have an opportunity to do something now that wasn’t present before because not enough will stand up to fight it.

Listen, Bubba and Jimmy aren't complying, and no LEO is going to walk up that gravel driveway.

I finally got the chance to read the bill. I am anxious to see how this thing plays out. Hopefully it's dead at the senate
Text - H.R.1808 - 117th Congress (2021-2022): Assault Weapons Ban of 2022

For clarification

“(50) The term ‘threaded barrel’ means a feature or characteristic that is designed in such a manner to allow for the attachment of a device such as a firearm silencer or a flash suppressor.

“(42) The term ‘barrel shroud’—
“(A) means a shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the barrel of a firearm so that the shroud protects the user of the firearm from heat generated by the barrel;

I need a little clarity on this in regards to semi-automatic pistols
“(38) The term ‘semiautomatic pistol’ means any repeating pistol that—

“(A) utilizes a portion of the energy of a firing cartridge to extract the fired cartridge case and chamber the next round; and

“(B) requires a separate pull of the trigger to fire each cartridge.

If I'm reading this correctly, this bill does not affect (for now) gun owners who legally purchased an "Assault rifle" prior to the date of enactment of this bill in 2022. If this bill passes this clause won't last long. One thing this will certainly do is drive up gun sales over the next month or two

“(v) (1) It shall be unlawful for a person to import, sell, manufacture, transfer, or possess, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, a semiautomatic assault weapon.
“(2) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to the possession, sale, or transfer of any semiautomatic assault weapon otherwise lawfully possessed under Federal law on the date of enactment of the Assault Weapons Ban of 2022.
