There are rational and reasonable limits placed on who can purchase what and when.
To claim otherwise is simply moronic.

1. Same restrictions on all rights.
2. All non active-duty-military branches of our government are limited to the same restrictions as civilians when it comes to ownership, buying keeping, and carrying. Numbers, calibers, add ons. Same with any security given to our politicians.

I've struggled with the issue over the years, but I tend to side with the 2a crowd more often than not, especially over the last few years. But the irony of "the government shouldn't tell me what to do" from some on here is laughable.

You're pissing up a rope. South Africa has some of the toughest gun laws on earth, and they just had 2 mass shootings. 3D printing will ensure that any type of firearm can be manufactured by underground, small scale manufacturers. Gun control doesn't work, and it never will. An evil person will get what they want in the end to hurt innocent people. SCOTUS will also make sure that some of these bans will never happen.
