I think voluntary charity is far more preferable than government programs. As I have often said, government only steps in when and where society has failed to adequately address the problem in the absence of government.

Prescription opioids is 100 times the problem as weed.

Just because there is also crime around alcohol and other narcotics doesn’t mean that there is none due to weed. It’s not “dragging it down” to correctly point out various thefts, robberies, assaults and murders that have occurred because of marijuana.
