Gun control debate (merged)

# 1 Biden has called for increasing funding to police

# 2 Seems odd that the GOP opposes background checks to look for red flags, such as police interaction indicating mental illness or crisis as disqualifiers for easy access. Why? Makes no sense to oppose that.

# 3 Agree we need to spend more on prisons and jails to accommodate more bad guys, serving longer sentences, particularly for gun crimes.

1). Biden wI’ll spend money for and on anything.
2) As a Republican, this is news to me. Can you provide a link?
3) I agree with this, but the gun laws have to be enforced. The problem is it seems some liberal DAs are dropping gun violations right and left. See the dummy Gascon in LA.

Biden calling for increased funding for police after his fellow Dems spent the last three years DEFUNDING them is about as dishonest as Biden taking credit for “job creation” as all the people the Democrats caused to become unemployed during covid get slowly rehired 🙄

They can have my AR-15 and my M4. I love shooting them, but I'll live with my 30.06 and my handguns if it saves a single life. Those guns are so destructive it took 2 days to ID some of those kids. But there aren't going to be any changes in national law. I'd bet the ranch on that.

You’ve posted some real doozies in the past but this is a one of a kind.

Did that sound better in your head ? Your AR-15 round is on the left ..

I seen a woman in a car yesterday with a "If it saves one life turn them in" bumper sticker.
She had three kids in the car with the windows up smoking.
Sorry ma'am, don't think I will

Growing up, all our heroes had weaponry, and usually more firepower than the bad guys. From the cowboys vs. indians, all the way to Sgt.Saunders and G.I. Joe., we were taught to be awed by firepower and/or weapons skill. Even knights in armor lived by sword and lance.

I own firearms == for hunting. I shot an AK-47 and it was cool as hell. Any scrawny young man who is laughed at by the young ladies can buy firepower and instantly feel more powerful than he did before.

We have some tenets DEEPLY ingrained in our culture, regarding traits of a hero. Those things could change but only with great difficulty, time and the will of the American people.

I still have a dream of going to one of those gun ranges where you can pay to legally fire a full Auto weapon some time. I would love to fire off a full belt from a German MG42 some day.

Who is Sgt. Saunders?

If the Republicans have any functioning brain cells, they would immediately flood the airwaves with commercials contrasting the out of control crime in American cities with stories of people protecting themselves with currently legal firearms that the Democrats wish to ban

I have shot the MP5, an UZI and a MAC10. The MAC sucked,

The MG42 would be cool, but my unicorn is a WW1-era Maxim.

Old but still relevant

In Virginia, one could buy a .22 rimfire rifle under the age of 18 perfectly legal. What they failed to show in this clip, was he could not buy ammunition for it until he turned 18, so he had pretty much bought nothing more than an unwieldy club. They failed to show what all he could NOT buy which is, I believe, any other gun.

Yes this is old. I have see it over the years dredged up by anti-gunners for "See! See! See how easier it is for anyone to buy a gun!"

It is a good example of propaganda.
