Gun control debate (merged)

Proper lube helps with the action.
Same thing happened with the Remington VTR Predator I had before I lost it in another freak boating accident. It is apparently a requirement that every AR platform rifle is shipped with goo in the action so as to immediately train the new owner on proper cleaning and maintenance

I made it a rule to stay out of any action that had goo in it.

I have no clue who Calvanism practitioners are, and I don't care because they are an incredible minority. What's funny to me is that I see all these larger variants (for lack of a better term) of Christianity throwing bricks at each other. I am fairly new at this, so excuse my 'ignorance', but my wife and I attend a Baptist church here on the Island. I have heard all the jokes in the past about Baptists, and I still don't know where they come from. We have a good pastor that teaches a good message every Sunday. I was Baptised in the Atlantic Ocean.

American religion is very regional. You have high concentrations of denominations depending on where you live.

When we lived in Michigan, we were surrounded by Reformed / Calvinist churches as thick as Baptist churches are in the South. Couldn't find a Baptist Church that easily, and had to drive a town over for a Methodist congregation. Lots of Catholic churches and Jewish synagogues in Cleveland; also had to go a town over for Methodist fellowship there. Here in Western Maryland, we pass at least three Methodist / Brethren churches on the way to the one we attend.

I've been to great [insert denomination here] churches, and I've been to really awful [insert denomination here] churches. No denomination has the corner on either market. If you're feeling spiritually fed by your church, then I'm genuinely happy for you!

What you said about God knowing your choice is exactly what I believe, too. God exists at all time at once and knows our choices before we make them. Reformed and Calvinism (conservative Presbyterian) teach that God decided for you at your making and you really have no choice in the matter.

I think my bitterness comes exactly from where you stated:. groups throwing bricks at each other. And I have my personal biases against my Fundamentalist Evangelical Independent Baptist upbringing (please note the specificity) and the damage that tradition has done and continues to do. I pray for God to soften my heart in that aspect.

I’m highly disappointed that we had to get this far into this silly ass premised thread before somebody started dropping pics of the evil instrument. Highly disappointed in you rednecks unless I missed some earlier.

Love him and his #1 rule.

Clint was way ahead of his time. Back when I was on an SRT/ERT, we trained for "two center mass, one to the head" on every hostile engagement. That line of thought came from the Trooper Mark Coates (South Carolina Highway Patrol) shooting. So that was the rule of the day. Both pistol and rifle at CQB ranges. Every training day. Over, and over, and over again. We got good at it against stationary paper targets, and then with Simunitions against role players. We thought we were top shelf.

And then along came the Israelis. They knew what we didn't, based on their years of experience in real life: a head is awfully hard to hit on a moving bad guy. Especially past 5 yards, and when the average cop would have trouble hitting a barn from the inside due to combat stress. So they taught "two center mass, and then two to the pelvic triangle". Their logic was simple, and solid. One hit center mass slows them down, so you fire two. Then you put a round or two in the triangle, be it 9mm, .40, .45 ACP, or .223/5.56, and there's a really good chance you hit a major vein or artery. Plus you are going to shatter the hip bone, which means your bad guy...no matter how motivated they are...is (a) going to collapse on that shattered hip, and (b) going to bleed to unconsciousness in 20-30 seconds, and then suffer heart failure within a minute due to major blood loss. So we went back to square one, and started over. Two upstairs, and two downstairs. Like I said before, toughest training I ever had as a civilian.

Paid off a couple of years later when the SRT (I was out of town for the callout), confronted a guy who had killed his wife and eluded capture for two days. They tracked him to an ex-girlfriends apartment; set up surveillance; and when he came out at 11pm that night, confronted him as he approached a vehicle. He drew the same pistol he had killed his wife with, and the lead SRT deputy hit him in the 10 ring with two shots from an MP5N, and then two more on his Levi's zipper. Keyholed both groups. CPR was attempted until the Squad got there 5 or 6 minutes later, but by that point he was a Class IV patient...about 3 or 4 quarts low by Express Lube standards...and did not benefit from medical intervention or legal representation.

All I need to know.

EDIT: Can't wait for Luthers "pro tip" on how to keep me from falling off my high horse again...

I used to have a couple Roger SR22s a Walther and a Sig Mosquito (POS) for pistols. Then of course there was the collection of 10/22s, a couple Marlins and even had a Mosberg rifle. But sadly the flood took them.

Tornado got mine.

You’ve gone through as many boats as we have. Dang.

CPR is overrated at times. Unless you pump it in so they can pump it out they are done. That sounds callous but it’s truth.
Hardest pt I ever took care of, tested my oath of care, was a man who shot his wife in the head. He was then hit 3 times by police, none by themselves life threatening but they wanted him contained on the locked unit. He made several statements, none solicited, which I documented. That was a rough night.
Don’t hold your breath on the pro tip.

That's like saying every car is designed to have the same top speed and the only factor is the driver,
In other words.....that's complete nonsense.
Luther. You really should stop talking about things you clearly don’t understand. An AR15 shoots a .22 caliber projectile. Smallest projectile on the market. Anything smaller and we’re talking BBs. No AR15 manufactured makes these projectiles fly any faster. A 223 is a 223 no matter what tool you use to fire it from. It’s coming out of an M&P 15 just as fast as it’s coming out of Daniel Defense. Same for the 556. Now you can get more power if you step up to an AR10. But you gun grabbers wouldn’t know about AR10s because you’re so worried about the much weaker AR15s because that’s what the media tells you about. But your media knows as much as you do. Nothing.

So the only nonsense I’m reading is under your name. Not his
