Gun control debate (merged)

Have probably mentioned this before, but did some shooting with a one-time Georgia quick-draw champion. Saw him draw and put five of six shots on a target at about 20 yards in a couple of seconds, with a snub-nose S&W .38. I was impressed.

My grandfather use to flip dimes up in the air and plink them with his Remington 22 rifle . Let me tell you , as a kid growing up watching that , it was like seeing a magic show . Lol

I have done it with clays and a shotgun but that’s the best I could do.

To my knowledge , he never shot a hi-powered rifle or a pistol again after his discharge in 46 but he always had a 22 and a shotgun that he would shoot often .

You are wrong . Your personal, subjective opinion of what something is doesn’t matter .

This is 8 sots in 1 second with a revolver . Let me say that again .. 8 shots off in one second using a wheel load revolver.

So??????? That has nothing to do with my proposal.

Lol. An automatic would have laid out thousands of rounds in a tenth that time. Heck even something with a really slow cyclic rate would absolutely decimate a couple hundred rounds in a couple minutes.
I think those guns should be regulated.

Remember that little discussion that we had about the rate of fire being on the operator when it’s not a full auto ? I know you didn’t watch the video but that’s the prime example . He ( the operator ) did it with a revolver . That means he had to pull the hammer back 8 separate time , to get off 8 shot in one sec . In your opinion is this an automatic weapon ?

Was not automatic. Automatic weapons would exceed 500-600 rpm. Automatic weapons require VERY extensive documentation of the potential owner and probably looking at a minimum of $15k-$20k for the weapon itself.

I admit, I do ponder if some kind of licensing should be required, but that goes against my belief in why the 2A exists: as the ultimate check on government.
Understood, and I simply disagree on multiple levels.

Yep I’ve got a S&W 22 with multiple magazines in a set up , and it’s probably one of my favorite pistols that I’ve ever owned .

I used to have a couple Roger SR22s a Walther and a Sig Mosquito (POS) for pistols. Then of course there was the collection of 10/22s, a couple Marlins and even had a Mosberg rifle. But sadly the flood took them.

If he shot 10 different types of guns, would he get off a different number of rounds per second?
How about you? Have you been able to get off the same number of shots per second on every gun you've fired?
