Gun control debate (merged)

Actually I got exactly the answer I expected and called you on your bull ****. I knew you would claim you were against any restrictions... well unless we could rationalize them against some non applicable “standard”. Thanks for playing kid. Again.
Your idea that we don’t and/or haven’t made policy decisions about what is good for society as a whole because “societies don’t have rights” is frankly dense, not to mention flat wrong.

You’re playing by yourself, don’t forget your helmet.

I know these guys are dumb but I find it hard to believe they don’t realize the real purpose of the 2nd amendment which is to protect us from idiots like them.
I’m sure they’re pissing their pants, a bunch of larpers armed with zip ties and iPhones took over the entire Capitol with ease. Imagine if they had scary guns.

Then turn it in if all it is doing for you is protecting your insecurity. No one cares though.
I don’t need to wield a weapon to make me feel secure, though I know many of you do... and that’s fine for you. Carrying around phallic-shaped objects like a toddler carries around their teddy is totally something grown men should be doing. Lol

The founding fathers said we need to make them feel uncomfortable from time to time.

Now you’re just rationalizing horrible legislation as justified. LMFAO

The founding fathers said we need to make them feel uncomfortable from time to time.
They also suggested that we shouldn’t be beholden to the ideas of people who lived 250 years ago and that their ideas aren’t meant to be permanent. They said that as information and situations evolve, so should the governance... yet we still have people that cling to the laws of those same FF as unimpeachable gospel.

If you go back and look at how long people spent in appointed/elected terms it’s nothing like today. SC justices would serve a few years and move on. Congressmen had better things to do than work in DC for 35 years. Now their sole focus is staying in office as long as possible.

We must’ve already peaked and be on the backside then.

Yep. It’s about self preservation, money, and power. It’s like an old guy use to tell me about picking up chics. “Promise them the world but don’t give them s***”.

I don't think the Government with their billion dollar drones are scared of your handguns

In a way you’re kind of right, that’s why we should all be allowed to have the same s*** the government has. Then again they are scared of zip ties and constantly trying to infringe on our rights.

we should all be allowed to have nuclear bombs? I dont think so...

Yeah, but the government is not a thing, it's people and it's not very likely that the people in the military are going to deploy a Reaper on their own families.

good point but I saw the National Guard gas their fellow Americans so the last president could have a photo shoot. (with an upside down Bible).

so you can never be too sure

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a gun owner myself... but in 2021 all it actually protects is hobbies and personal insecurities.
I have experienced an attempted mugging. If not for a good samaritan being armed I would have been robbed at least, if not beaten as well.

My chances of being attacked are far higher than my risks due to Covid.

So is gun ownership per capita inversely proportionate to violent crime rates per capita?

Wtf gun, that people carry around, is phallic? Every pistol I have seen is shaped like an "L". You need to see a doctor if you think that's phallic.
