Gun control debate (merged)

Barack Obama says Congress' lack of action after Sandy Hook was "angriest" day of his presidency

I’m a supporter of the Second Amendment, but if there was ever a moment in time that my thoughts changed, it was Sandy Hook. Probably one of the saddest moments of the last decade.

The thing about Sandy Hook is once someone (maybe yourself) takes a step back and looked at the conditions objectively, they can see the stars aligned perfectly for that catastrophe to unfold and nothing could change the outcome. The weapon was in a locked safe, he murdered his mother to get to it and the police were minutes away when seconds counted (as always).

The weapon used was really irrelevant in the great scheme of things. He could have achieved the same murder numbers with any number of firearms including a revolver or a shotgun.

It was a sad state of affairs and I think the shock still rings true today. But to use this or Stoneman Douglas as the bedrock principle for the gun control narrative without evaluating all the conditions (not saying you in particular) is disingenuous at best.

You can take your white privileged attitude of waiting on someone else to protect you and exit.
This is where the self reliant hang out.
He comes across as the guy that thinks he’s smarter than everyone...... that coworkers call a big dumb ass behind his back.... along with pretty much everyone else that knows him.

So I shouldn't rely on the people who are paid to protect and serve the citizens to actually protect and serve the citizens? And instead, I should carry a gun around and place the public in danger when I perceive a threat? Sounds logical.
I agree you shouldn’t carry a gun because there’s no doubt in my mind that you would place the public in danger.

He’s not a lawyer

He's an admitted troll, at least in here regarding firearms issues. That has to be taken into account when reading his posts. It would also help explain some of the more (insert favorite WTF meme/gif) posts he's made that would seem incongruous with being a legal professional.

Yes they do. Their duty is to protect and serve the public. Whether they do a good job of that is a different story.
No they dont. Federal judges have ruled they dont multiple times. I posted a link to those cases. Including, most recently, the florida school shooting. You are just keeping your head in the sand. Thinking the way you want it to be is the way it is.

Enforced ignorance on your part.

And you're an everyday fool. How'd that Trump vote go for you this time, red?
It went just fine everyday lawyer. I cast my vote for the candidate on the ballot which I thought was most qualified and your influence peddling dementia patient didn’t make the cut. What a stupid ass comeback but I should expect it from you 😂🤡
