Gun control debate (merged)

For carry the P365 is wildly popular right now. If you're primarily concerned with at home protection larger frames are easier to shoot for most people.
Just reading this thread from a while back. My wife, all 125 lbs of her, loves the 226 tac ops. She can shoot quarter size groups at 7 yds. She wants the model with the threaded barrel.....asked me to make a "silencer".

I just got a Beretta apx to carry instead of my .357 snub nose. Debating on getting a Kimber or Sig 1911 or an AR next.

All of the above of course. (and then sell me what you don't want at a deep discount)

I've heard conflicting stories about Kimbers. I'd heard if you got a "good one" they are great but more lemons than you'd think for a pistol in that price range. OTOH I'd heard the newer Kimbers don't have as many potential problems as QC has gotten better. Sigs are "different" than classic 1911's. (Sig's I believe have an external extractor for instance)

If you don't have an AR I'd start there to be honest.

I’m definitely leaning towards the AR. I’m not gonna go all out and build my own, probably go with one of the S&W models I’ve been looking at or the Sig M400 Tread but who knows. Just wanna keep under $1500 or maybe even under or around a grand. My cousin has a few Kimbers and he definitely didn’t get any lemons. They are pretty but I’m sure I could get more bang for my buck and would definitely enjoy shooting the AR more.

North Georgia Reloading in Fort Oglethorpe has a nice AR pistol chambered in 300 Blackout. I was sorely tempted but I held on to my wallet and bought some ammo for my other pistols instead.

I've only shot one Kimber and it didn't have a duck tail. SOB bit me between the thumb and forefinger. Will NEVER own a Kimber.......unless the price is right! :D
