Gun control debate (merged)

Lol. We'll see. A Republican has only gotten more votes in one (1) presidential election THIS CENTURY by the way red. ONE.
You would think that the Dems would understand the rules by now, and try to win the Electoral College. Or, you can keep importing Mexicans and make them your new slaves and get their votes.

We have too many people shot every day for the “self-defense” contention to make sense. We have WAY more guns than any other developed nation but what do the stats say? They say that hinders us rather than helps. Me and my colleagues live that reality.
We are only the worst because of the big cities. If you look at the general US our stats arent nearly so bad.

IIRC we go from worst to like 20th if you remove five cities. All cities with big gun restrictions and generally not filled with right leaning gun nuts. But that's where it's the worse.

So just mailing it in now? Replying to why I don't give a rotting rat's rectum about international comparisons by reposting international comparisons?

So even if only for the edification of others and following up on the theme from my last post there's this:

US murders concentrated in 5 percent of counties

It's one of those things that really makes sense intuitively. It's not like bad things can't happen to good people pretty much anywhere (it happens) but how many people aren't familiar with the idea of "just don't go there". Regarding firearms the
issue then becomes "let's screw with 2A rights from sea to shining sea" despite the fact all these stats used for justification are wildly skewed from an area that fits in your pocket. Perhaps we need to really, no REALLY, look into what is going on in these areas. It's tantamount to just cutting into a patient all over instead of focusing on the areas with the tumors.

Yes but those law abiding right leaning gun nuts must be punished to appease the feelz of those appalled by the idiot inner city dwellers who refuse to abide by the laws already in place! The feelz man the feelz!

You need to do some research on the subject. How many perpetrators of mass shootings were on one of these drugs?

So prove to me the rate of mental illness in the US is proportionately as high as the gun violence rate in the US when comparing it internationally, or else you’re just talking out of your ass.

Really? Might want to check your facts especially since we’ve personally hosted 28 hospital systems in the past 2 years from 12 states (including Vandy) who is trying to learn about creating the innovate programs UTMC has created to deal with drug addicted patients and others. Magnet status, TNCPE status, consistently listed as among the best.

But please tell us more about your “high level” hospital that you were complaining about earlier this month as not even being prepared for corona. UT has been on top of it and continues to operate just fine

Every University affiliated medical system claims to be “innovative”. It’s all relative. My local 100 bed bandaid center got Magnet status too, so what?

Do you really want to compare UT to Penn? Go ahead.

So we are the only country with big cities? Do tell?

So it’s shocking that more things happen where the most people live? Come on now, I expected better from YOU this time. Are we the only country with large metro areas? Absolutely not obviously, in fact, it’s quite the opposite.

Also, are you suggesting that most most violence is occurring in the most populated areas (still feels weird that this isn’t intuitive to most people, but ok) that this isn’t an American problem? It happens in America, but not the part of America that you live in so it’s not your problem? Is that what I’m hearing from this crowd?

Prove to us that people aren’t the problem when the majority of gun deaths in the US by a long shot are suicide not homicide. You conveniently keep ignoring that in your diatribe.

And I also showed you data illustrating that homicide in the US is largely unchanged for the last 100+ years.

Seriously what the hell have you actually got?

This graph doesn’t bother you, at all?

It does me , it shows just how stupid people can be when they are packed into urban cities . We should definitely try do something about that . I suggest better leadership , fix the underlying problems , raise the community standards and I’ll bet the farm the gun violence goes down . 😉

Nah F em. Pack them in there and let them have their own damn hunger games. I’ll live out in the burbs and eat popcorn while I watch the show.

I’ve always found it odd that liberals love to talk about firearm restrictions while they are in charge of urban cities and after their gun policies have failed . Let’s blame the rednecks , systemic racism , the NRA and those damn Republicans. There’s no way it can be our fault for creating or allowing urban and social decay in our cities .

LOL @ Magnet Status . It’s is a joke and a scam designed to generate money . It’s a Ponzi scheme . Takes an average of 4 years to achieve , roughly $500k annually for an average cost of $2.1 million , then you’ll pay to keep it .. but I digress . 😏

Yep. Cognitive dissonance.

Our policies are brilliant and the only reason they haven’t reached the desired outcome over the people we are oppressing them with is those red necks who won’t let us oppress them as well are preventing it! SMDH.

Sounds like the Malcolm Baldrige equivalent for the healthcare industry 😂
