Gun control debate (merged)

Worth every bit of your time. I recommend this documentary to all. But, especially those for gun control.

I graduated highschool in 1984. The pickups had gun racks clearly visible and usually housing a rifle and shotgun. Many handguns were probably in those same vehicles. My sophomore year I won a magazine sales contest and was awarded a Browning shotgun presented to me in front of the entire student body at half court of the gym. I brought it home on the school bus. Somehow we survived.

We do not have a firearms problem. We have a people problem.

Our populace in general has devolved into a pathetic mess with no real moral compass.

There are still bright spots,,,, they are however sparse at best.

The sad condition of the populace along with the tragedies it often inflicts should not and will not be allowed to deter or diminish our 2nd amendment rights especially when it appears they will become more important as our rotten citizenry continues to spiral into the toilet.

Curtis is a state representative in district 25 (Chicago). He‘s also a YES vote on SB 1966 (“Fix the FOID” or “BIO Bill”), which more details on that were covered here:

Well, in true “Chicago” fashion, seems that those that make the laws don’t follow the laws (current or proposed):

They probably wouldn't shoot them until they attacked their kids. I'm not sure folks realize how vicious hogs can be.

Depending on where you live hogs are the ultimate vermina non grata and engage them with lethal force at any opportunity. I have relatives in TX and the only good hog is a dead one. I have one cousin that had a bit of a close call with a couple hogs and while his lever 30-30 was enough at the time he wasn't thrilled at the margin for error factor. He upgraded to EL's favorite firearm for the job.

And for those that really don't know zep's right, it's an actual thing. Here's a hiker's advisory on the matter.

I'd be more than a little curious in having the definition for "the behavior and purchasing patterns that can help identify and prevent mass shootings,”.

Fairly reeks of an end run in establishing an owner's database, including beyond firearms. (As an aside when the hell have night vision goggles been used in a mass shooting? Has it ever happened? I can't recall but it's specifically cited in the story)

With very few exceptions most mass shootings are actually carried out with weapons and ammunition that would be completely ubiquitous to literally millions of normal purchases.
