Gun control debate (merged)

What about the thousands of people who have been put to death who were later exonerated? Wrong place, wrong time, I guess.
1000s ?
Exaggerate much?

People kill people. Addressing the real issues of suicide, mental health, and gang violence would be a much more constructive way of helping to fix the problem. Depriving people of liberty will just create more problems.
Also quit using kids as props for your causes. It is sad.

But why do you get to decide what is a threat when that puts me and my family at risk as well? If it is on your property, then fine, blow the person away if you feel it is warranted, but when you put other innocent people at risk then I have a huge issue with it. I do not want you or any other person in the public deciding whether my children live or die. That is not your call to make.

It's been pretty easy to ignore most of this recent diatribe of yours, not enough substance to merit a response actually, but this piqued my interest. How many civilian defense shootings involved innocents? Even better, compare that number (and the onus is on you to provide that) to those that are questionable by LEO? You know, these magical protection creatures in which you put so much faith. In fact, that needs addressing separately.

As already stated the police have no Constitutional "duty to protect". There's more than one case involved but certainly Castle Rock v Gonzales. Even taking this into account the real disconnect with this POV is that it's even rational to expect LEO to be exactly where and when you will need them. Consider:

Police show up after the fact.
Man held at gunpoint after attempt to rob disabled volunteer

Cops came later.
Woman fires shots to break up robbery outside Popeyes

Starting to see a pattern?
CITIZENS ARREST: Man with concealed-carry holds suspect, accused of crashing into cars, at bay

You go girl! (but hey, deputies "responded" when it was over...right?)
Drive-in theater manager kills man who beat her with bat: Police

Way to be there cops...er...nevermind.
Police: 1 dead in self-defense shooting in Lake Charles casino robbery

This is almost getting boring now.
Passenger shoots man who attempted to steal girlfriend's vehicle in Walgreens parking lot

And finally, because I really am bored now.
Victim scares off potential Warren robber with gun

Now it's very important to note there's no chance in hell this is anywhere close to every incident fitting this pattern and that all these examples are from the last couple weeks or so.

When the guano hits the rapidly rotating blades for a cop to literally be right there/right then before anything bad actually happens is like finding a spanish doubloon walking on the beach.

But you want to be able to carry your AR-15 wherever you want and open fire when you perceive there to be threat, which potentially puts my children in danger. I think we pay people called law enforcement to protect us in those situations and you have no right to put me or my family in danger simply because you decide someone is a threat.
Federal courts have ruled cops are not responsible for your safety and have no obligation to help. And considering the case came from the school shooting in Florida I would say you cant expect the cops to help in those situations.

You dont have a right to just open up at anything you think is a threat. Keep pushing lies until you come up with a real argument.

Law enforcement is reactive in nature when it comes to "those situations."

He's gotta be trolling

If taking one AR-15 off the street can save one innocent person's life, then I'm all for it. You also don't have the right to put my children and others in danger just so you can exercise your perceived constitutional right to unfettered firearms.
How about sobriety checkpoints?

Doesn't come close to the hypocrisy of the Right being "pro life" and pro death penalty. Explain that one to me. Those two concepts are literally polar opposites.
uh huh.

If I were your neighbor, and I heard a lot of screaming at your house, I would absolutely make sure that it would be none of my business. I'll call 9-11 if you'd like.

You mean like this?
Text message prompts man to save neighbors

Or maybe this?
Hero: Armed Neighbor Saves Family From Carjacker With Knife

This one...just damn. Anybody think this mother has a problem with having an armed neighbor?
Neighbor kills Oklahoma man trying to drown twin babies, police say

Don't forget animals.
Neighbor saves woman from pit bull attack with rifle

How about with an AR, just for laughs?
GOOD MAN WITH A GUN: Man With AR-15 Saves Neighbor From Stabbing Attack

As usual there's too many to even start to cite all of them. But of course all these people would have been better served waiting for the police to show up, right?

Too many guns , โ€œanimals/ bad hombres โ€œ willing to shoot you . I guess if he wanted to experience Mexico without crossing the border he could spend some time in south Texas first .
I just find it fascinating that all these leftists that were going to leave when Donald J Trump was elected were going to Canada. But, no... they ain't racist.... naaaaaaah

If I do anything that jeopardizes you or your family I should be held accountable. If somebody else puts your family at risk GTFO with your dumbass logic holding me accountable for that. And pound sand with your โ€œif only one...โ€ emotional plea

I think it's safe to say you are assuming some things about gun owners. I only feel the need to respond because you are only the like the 45th person to get this wrong..
Taking rights away from law abiding citizens will not stop the criminal element from running amuck.
Typical police response time where i live is 5 to 7 minutes. If someone's breaking into my house do you think i could logic them to death? Perhaps i should hit them over the head with my degree? Hate to lose that frame, i really like it. My Louisville slugger can speak pretty well. Gee that's like bringing a bat to a gun fight... Pure silliness.
Yes I've taken license here. Not every hoodlum has a gun. You also have taken license here... Not every gun owner is what you assume they are. Why do you suppose you got such a strong response to talking points that you peppered with a healthy dose of assumption? (Rhetorical question)
