Gun control debate (merged)

If taking one AR-15 off the street can save one innocent person's life, then I'm all for it. You also don't have the right to put my children and others in danger just so you can exercise your perceived constitutional right to unfettered firearms.
If taking one illegal alien rapist/murder (like MS-13 for instance) off the street can save one innocent person's life (Kate Steinle, for instance), then I'm all for it. You don't have the right to put my children and others in danger just so you can exercise your perceived right to open borders.

Doesn't come close to the hypocrisy of the Right being "pro life" and pro death penalty. Explain that one to me. Those two concepts are literally polar opposites.
I figured you being a progressive would struggle with that because you view an innocent, unborn baby the same as a murdering, raping criminal.

A poly sci degree huh ? Well my best advise would be stop admitting to people you have that , then go out and experience more people and communities and situations if you want the truth instead of an agenda driven narrative.

Hahaha! You have no idea what I have experienced, but okay.

No they are not. Unborn babies have committed no crime except being conceived, is that a crime yet?

What about the thousands of people who have been put to death who were later exonerated? Wrong place, wrong time, I guess.

You realize that almost all of the mass murders that have happened in this country were perpetrated by American citizens, right?

But you want to be able to carry your AR-15 wherever you want and open fire when you perceive there to be threat, which potentially puts my children in danger. I think we pay people called law enforcement to protect us in those situations and you have no right to put me or my family in danger simply because you decide someone is a threat.

Law enforcement has no duty to protect you and yours. The vast majority of the time they are there to write the report and secure the crime scene.

And who are these people randomly firing rifles at any threat?

Apparently not to much according to your posts . Maybe it’s just not the right experiences for an honest outcome .

I haven't been on here in a while and actually enjoy these debates. You have to admit that it helps to have someone with viewpoints other than yours on here as 95% of the people on here have very similar views.

So you get to be the moral arbiter for who deserves to live and die? Also, what about the thousands of people who have been put to death who were later exonerated? Wrong place, wrong time, I guess.

Thousands? Really? 1506 have been executed in the US since 1976. How many were as innocent as an unborn baby?
You seem to be the moral arbiter for all the unborn that are terminated. Not one committed a crime, not one had a trial by jury and not one had the right to endless appeals.

Wrong place, wrong time, I guess.

But the police have no obligation to protect you....

Ask any police officer if they’ve ever intervened in a rape or a home invasion. Typically they arrive too late to make a difference. You are responsible for your own safety.

But why do you get to decide what is a threat when that puts me and my family at risk as well? If it is on your property, then fine, blow the person away if you feel it is warranted, but when you put other innocent people at risk then I have a huge issue with it. I do not want you or any other person in the public deciding whether my children live or die. That is not your call to make.

That is a different debate, but I am actually not pro-abortion. However, I believe that a woman has the right to choose what happens to her own body and you, me, or the people in Washington should not be making that decision. The mother has to live with the consequences of that choice.

So list all those instances where someone carrying an AR-15 wherever they wanted; opened fire where they perceived a threat and put others in danger?

I'll hang up now and wait for you to get busy with your Google-Fu.

An AR-15 owner has the right to decide what happens to his own weapon(s) and you, me, or the people in Washington should not be making that decision. The owner has to live with the consequences of that choice.

You should try to get out of East TN for a while buddy and anytime you want to match IQs I'm ready.
I think you should get out period. You need to see life instead of listening to whatever you are. You thinking people with AR's are walking around looking for someone to shoot shows your IQ isn't as high as you think.
