On sales? Not very high up since they tend to be more expensive than your baseline soda can shooter most people buy and they've never flooded a market with their products.

On quality? Upper level since they do adhere to a very strict template (called the Technical Data Package or TDP for short) which makes them the only company out there that can claim "Mil-Spec" in their production. Neither Remington nor FN can sell rifles to the public that are TDP compliant since the specific design data cannot be used by other companies in commercial products. Colt is the only company that can sell the entire military specification package (sans automatic features and short barrel) to the general public.

I do think Colt has a horrible business model, but this move is allegedly only temporary and I'd almost flat guarantee you they will be back in time for the 2020 election year gun buying craze. Even if they aren't, there are plenty of manufacturers out there that will take up the slack.

For the idiot mouthbreathers in here claiming this as a "victory" you should check out the inventory of most online gun shops and their AK models...

Colt's price will go up because of the name, others that want a close copy will still buy their Bravo Company, Daniel Defense or LMT and be perfectly content.

I find it best not to post when I'm grumpy or have had a shot or 3. After a 16 hour day at work yesterday, i just put the phone down while my breaks were still engaged and went to sleep. As usual though, lots of good opinion and reading material..lol.

They don't care if they sound stupid. The people that believe them are even more ignorant on the subject and putting out ridiculous misinformation like this will just further their cause to ban guns.

Literally would take about 30 seconds for someone with ZERO knowledge to use Google and sound smarter than that about ARs
