Gun control debate (merged)

Are you making the argument that the problem is with the magazine fed, semi-auto's? I think you're getting too caught up on what the anti-gun lobby is calling it and to be fair, your argument is a bit self defeating. You suggest that its popularity is due to its versatility and then finish by stating it's no different from other semi auto's. The versatility of different barrels, stocks, scopes, trigger cranks etc. are precisely what make the gun more lethal. People don't just add sht to make the gun heavier, I didn't.

I’m making the argument that there’s no such thing as an assault weapon or they all are . Again I have rifles that have assaulted things and rifle that have never assaulted anything . Is there a difference ? Same with my pistols . You take an AR in a 308 lay it next to a semi auto 308 and tell me there’s a difference in killing power . It’s the platform it’s on that scares all the little gun grabbers .

I wonder how many rounds of ammunition are fired annually in the US that have anything to do with a person being harmed vs not? I'll conservatively start the bidding at 1 per million.

You are way off on the bottom side I’ll bet .

With respect that's a dubious list for "deadlier". Trigger cranks maybe but they will work on anything capable of reset, not just an "assault rifle". (I've seen them on 10-22's)

What a bunch of horseshit. There's a reason it's the weapon of choice for mass shooters (terrorist). Lets see if you know why? I bet you do but your argument would be shot if you said so.
Because it's a ubiquitous term. It's like saying a sedan to cover everything from a Pinto to a Telsa.

It is designed to kill and that is the point which you missed entirely.
Really? Hunting implies some level of killing. Just implies killing not humans. Which is a point you cant address. I was pointing out that they are used far more to hunt that to shoot people. Far more. Like so much more, 400 times, that it's insane you want to argue what people do with them.

You don't have to be a good shot with a shotgun, just close.

100 feet isn't really that close with a shotgun, the spread past thirty yards is too unpredictable. You may hit me with 00 buck, but maybe not with all of it, especially in a duel. A slug would be different and it'd come down to the faster trigger pull and aim.

I'll take the AR15, zero'd with iron sites and group them inside a nickel in either scenario.

Tell us what you bad experience with a gun is? I really don't understand why you hate them so bad.

My experience with guns and whether I hate them or not is not part of the discussion. I was basically agreeing that guns are neither good nor bad. They are an inanimate object and you cannot apply a human characteristic to them.

Walmart was so useless during the ammo shortages, not sure why anyone would be buying from them anyways. And I don’t think I know anyone that’s bought a gun at Walmart.

I've bought a few from Walmart but their selection is terrible. Their entire shooting/hunting selection is laughable. Now I'll have no reason to go to Walmart and wait 10 or 15 minutes for an employee to get a box of ammo out of the case.
