Gun control debate (merged)

Neither one of them should receive government funding.
Whether you like it or not PP provides necessary services to people who otherwise may not get them. I don't particularly like that it's govt funds but provide an alternative instead of just getting rid of it.

It's in no way similar to the NRA which is a lobbying org. The tweet was stupid

PP is a money laundering scheme. Government gives them lots of money and much of that same money gets kicked back to DEM politicians. Same for Unions.

I don’t like it and I don’t want my tax dollars going there. If you think it’s so important write them a personal check.

Let's face it. Most of these Organizations receiving big government funding are slush funds designed to kick back moneys to politicians.

There has to be a viable alternative. This "I'm not poor so who cares" attitude really sucks. You're actually messing with people's lives

Like the military? Cutting big chunks of it will have a larger effect than pp

Maybe end tax exempt status for places of worship? Should fund a good medical center in most cities

Probably. At least the defense industry contractors like:

  1. Lockheed Martin.
  2. Boeing. ...
  3. Raytheon. ...
  4. BAE Systems. ...
  5. Northrop Grumman. ...
  6. General Dynamics. ...
  7. Airbus Group. ...
  8. Thales. ...
Just pulled from a random Google Search.

I'm all for adding a PP donation question on tax returns. PP should be donations only. There are more than enough wealthy supporters out there that can put their money where their mouths are and fund it.

Right now it's being supported by taxpayers including those that are anti-abortion and they have every right to be furious about that.

So which conservative is proposing that? Just curious because I'll support the idea

Take abortion off the table for Planned Parenthood and you’ll see support from both sides. Tax dollars have ZERO business being used there. Stop assuming my rationale, I’m against funding PP with their current spectrum of services. Get the politically charged abortions off the table and you’ll see broad support. And I’d say PP is really messing with the lives of those aborted fetuses wouldn’t you?

Wait What ? Nobody disagrees that the NRA lobbies congress but to insinuate that’s all they do and that Planned Parenthood doesn’t have a super pact that does the same thing is disingenuous. They most certainly lobby Congress using a super pact and other entities.

I still would not support giving them government dollars due to the kick backs to the politicians. I don't support giving tax payer dollars to any organization for anything. Let the people decide what they want to support with their own donations.

Yep and use our Tax Dollars to do it unlike the NRA.

The essential health care services Planned Parenthood provides, like: STD testing and treatment, birth control, well-woman exams, cancer screening and prevention, abortion, hormone therapy, infertility services, and general health care.

Besides abortions, most of these services plus many more are either available at a local health department or could be if the tax dollars provided to PP were diverted to local health departments.

Private funding and donations would allow PP to reduce expenses with a focus on services not provided by the local health department.

So I’ll agree with your statement on kickbacks. I hade no problem with the majority of PP services. However any gov dollars need to be spent providing care and if they reach a conclusion that an abortion is medically necessary they need to refer those people to non gov funded establishments. Hey if this has such broad support from the left they can pony up and fund it. I don’t support it and I don’t want to fund it.
