Gun control debate (merged)

@GallupNews: 58% view National Rifle Association favorably... https://t.co/J45Ulkm33r #GallupDaily https://t.co/jf7agqH21o

That's higher than I would have thought. Maybe reason prevails on this issue. Especially since there's a decent number who don't like the NRA but still support gun ownership.

It doesn't help that Hillary and Obama are citing Australia as an example of "common sense" gun legislation.

Gun manufacturers should refuse to ship to non gun friendly states. They should also refuse to service any firearms sent from those states for repair and also refuse to sponsor any outdoor shows from those states. A reverse boycott would be more effective.

If this doesn't make sense, I had my knee replaced on Thursday and the pain killers are talking.

What did you replace it with?

It's a good idea in concept, but would require each and every manufacturer out there to be on board. And there will always be that one that doesn't care about the lowly civilians having firearms as long as the government contacts keep rolling in. (Here's looking at you Colt and H&K)

And he will be a massive failure, as per usual.

LG or Obama?

I wouldn't underestimate the power of Obama's pen and phone mixed with spineless Congressional leadership.

It's a recipe for another Obamacare type of saga where the implementation outruns the legal process. And it's now the law, are you pro murder??

A republican congress knows if they don't fight any kind of new gun laws, they're pretty much done. If it didn't happen after sandy hook (so horrible) it never will.

after ACA, I learned that a Republican Congress just has to campaign on fighting it. When it comes time to do the dirty work they will tap out. I don't really think this would be much different. Perhaps I'm jaded. I hope I'm incorrect, but I'm highly pessimistic about that group doing anything but enabling Obama's agenda.

With regards to Obama's agenda, the only thing it got him was the distinction of gun seller of the decade. Lol

So let's introduce 10,000 people from a part of the world that spawns terrorism into our country...

And then highly regulate their ability to protect themselves.

Sound about right

After the Heller decision, it would be really hard to do anything from a ban perspective. Then again, I'm not one to put much stock in what the Supreme Court says about anything. Megalomaniacs dressed in robes.

If anything, the Paris attack showed the American people that the only hope for protection is themselves. As it's always been.
