Robber Bets Victim Doesn't Have Gun, Victim Shoots Him

Take guns from law abiding citizens, and the robber wins this bet every time.

According to MS News Now, the suspect approached the man and feigned an interest in cigarettes. When the would-be victim said he didn't have any cigarettes, the suspect "began to walk away, turned and said, 'betcha ain't got one of these,' pointing a gun at the [would-be] victim."

However, the would-be victim was carrying a gun for self-defense and he responded to the threat by shooting the suspect in the chest.
The suspect left the scene "and was later picked up by ambulance the Pines apartments" on Watkins Drive.

The would-be victim "is not facing any charges."

Problem is the robber will probably sue the victim and win.

Eh, given the circumstances, at least as reported thus far, and it being Mississippi (which is much different than, say, IL or NY) the odds on that aren't great for pulling off a civil suit.

A gun safety message that doesn't depend on fear, lies or uses dead children to get the message across? Say it ain't so. But I'm LMAO at this one.

That was utterly amazing.

I don't necessarily agree with it. I was taught at that age that guns were powerful tools that were for adults or to he used with adult supervision. I knew of their destructive force and "feared" (as a biblical fear.) And respected it. I didn't know what a dildo was until at least middle school of not high school.

I think the education is paramount and certainly a footstomp. But I am glad the groups are at least using some common sense education as opposed to the normal "guns are evil!" nonsense.

Effective today (7/2/14), Georgia residents may take guns into some bars, nightclubs & schools as long as the citizens have a license to carry. Critics called the measure the "guns everywhere" bill. Georgia Governor signed the bill into law in April. The article can be found at townhall.com if your interested in reading it.

I think it is beyond stupid to allow guns in bars and nightclubs. Guns and alcohol don't mix very well.
I am for gun rights but a little common sense needs to be used.

I've never used a gun to mix drinks myself but to each their own.

It's worth mentioning that any establishment that wants to disallow carry in their establishment can do so. It's also worth noting that I think nearly half the states allow carry. Whatever fears people may have these laws aren't translating into an epidemic of actual bar-brawl-shootouts.

In fact, while most states that allow carry where alcohol is served prohibit imbibing some (I'm certain Indiana at least used to) actually allow consumption. If this had resulted in a bunch (or even a few for that matter) of drunken shootouts don't you think that wouldn't be cited (in a hysterical manner most likely) at every possible opportunity by the antis? Of course it would. It's not happening.

It's worth noting that even having said the above I can't convince myself that carrying and actually drinking isn't pretty imprudent.

I am sure you haven't .
Why would anyone such as yourself that drinks his wine from the box have the need to mix a drink unless you are pouring multi boxes into your feeding trough.

Don't know. I go back father than you. The premium cheap wine was Boones Farms back in the day. A group of 4 idiots choose to drink beer, cherry flavored vodka and Boones Farm (do not recall the flavor) wine one night. I haven't been able to drink wine since then.

lol

The accessorizing caught on with the staff. But even though carrying a gun openly is legal in Colorado, Boebert nonetheless makes staffers who want to pack take an extra safety course.

Customers don't feel threatened by their servers carrying guns, she said.

"No one has ever turned around and walked out because they saw a gun," Boebert said. "They might have left because it was too crowded, praise the Lord. But not over the guns."
