Gun control debate (merged)

There might be something to that, but hasn't this been true in almost every culture forever? I don't think it is a recent cultural event for men to measure themselves by how much tail they get.

Sheep herders report the highest self esteem of any occupation studied.

Chicago mayor pushes plan requiring all gun sales to be videotaped | Fox News

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is pushing to require all gun sales in the city to be videotaped, as part of a plan to allow gun stores back in Chicago under very tight restrictions.

The stores also must have a police-approved security plan before they could open. The plan would have to include exterior lighting, surveillance cameras, alarm systems and gun and ammunition storage. Store employees would also be forced to “undergo fingerprinting, background checks and training on identifying potential gun traffickers.”

Specifically what do gun traffickers look like?

Sounds like trying to circumvent something being legal by making it as difficult as possible.

Reminds me of a passage from a book I read about how they tried to keep a guy in the dark about his home's pending demolition while still claiming the information was openly available to him.

“But the plans were on display…”
“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”
“That’s the display department.”
“With a flashlight.”
“Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”
“So had the stairs.”
“But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.”

Don't panic!

All while being perfectly legal.

How about a video camera following Rahm around 24/7 & play it back each day? I wonder if we would see something illegal going on there that he does behind closed doors?

We must stop relying on politicians for solutions, especially liberal politicians, because they're killing us w/whatever solutions they deem necessary to live by.

A friend of mine had a tin foil theory that Rahm did this as a test bed to see how well it would fly. You know he's not that far removed from Obama and could be doing this as a "favor" to see how well it might fly locally. And if it goes unchallenged, it could be part of those "common sense measures" that Obama likes to talk about.

Tin foil, but might not be far from the truth.

:) The thing is Rahm & Obama have no common sense to measure anything.

Picked up a USP compact from a friend a couple weeks ago but just got to shoot it this past weekend. :)

I'm surprised it didn't get bored and go out and start killing random people.

Those little bastages are evil like that.
