If there were, which one would you rob? C'mon, you are a liberal, you know all about taking money from people that earned it. Robbing a house is not that much of a stretch.

Assuming he is a Romulan and materializes right in my bedroom, you are absolutely right. If he is breaking into my house however in this century, he will never witness the "reaching" part of your scenario. It will be in hand when I see him which will be long before he sees me.

It's impossible for some to acknowledge or even recognize hard truths about humanity; they prefer their idealism and subscribe to the way things "ought" to be.

A certain amount of of pragmatism is required if one desires to be more closely in tune with objective reality, however. We are the most advanced species of life on the planet, yet just under the surface of our "society", we are still governed and play by the same rules as every other organism.

Are you saying that a robber had a sense of morality and they will not harm the occupants of the home? If so I have a dead cousin in Chicago who was murdered by a home invader. Said cousin didn't believe in having firearms.

In my experience, a couple combat tours, I have found people are less likely to attack someone with a weapons unless they are stupid or have a death wish. In any case, choosing to attack someone who is armed typically results in severe harm and/or death.

The premise of gun control has never been about safety. Just like with everything about the government it has to deal with control. Banning something or restricting access to something only makes it more difficult for those who care about the law and follow it harder to acquire said item.
