It’s entirely possible. I’ve met plenty of people in the military that weren’t good at anything.

Yes, everybody in the military is given in depth training with firearms. I knew a number of people in the military that I wouldn't trust to handle a firearm competently.

I’d say 70% or more only touch a firearm once a year.

A lot of the people that join the Navy/AF have never fired a gun and have no interest. They just want a job.

None of the gun laws he's advocating for would have prevented the shooting of his wife. The guy passed a background check and was not making overt threats to gin up a red flag case. They tried to cry about hi cap mags but she was the first person shot so that's irrelevant to his "reason".
