Guitar Shots to the Head: Kiffin Sells

As always, it was a very good read Lex!

Kiff said we would put together a great coaching staff
check

Kiff said we would get a few nice surprises in recruiting
check

Kiff said the players were going to be more accountable, more confident, and more physical
check

Most of us don't care if CLK told Jeffrey he would pump gas. Most of us don't care about the negative publicity. The world is full of haters!

UT fans don't want ANY MAJOR RECRUITING VIOLATIONS. As long as we don't get any. I don't see hardly any UT fan getting off of the Kiff Train anytime soon!!!!!!!

Nice read.

But if you ask me, so far its 50-50 as to whether Kiffin is selling success or snake oil.

Nice read.

But if you ask me, so far its 50-50 as to whether Kiffin is selling success or snake oil.

In 170 days, we get the first look at the product on the field.
In 177 days, we get our revenge.
In 184 days, we found out how competitive he has made this team and what sort of game day coach he is.

Until then, I'm enjoying the ride, even though EVERY opposing fan is trying to spoil it.

that's fair considering he's still 0-0 in the w/l column.

and i'm just going to keep saying it....regardless of what happens this year......there's absolutely no reason to not think the future looks bright.

you of all people should know what kind of adrenaline shot this program needed, and so far so good.

but none of us are naive enough to think that the swooning taking place will mean anything if it doesn't translate on to the field at some point.

so far, he's delivered on what he said opening day.

at this point, that's all you can ask for. mission accomplished.

it brings up another thought i've had for years. i've always wondered what it would be like for us to be the aggressor. the agitator. for years, we've been privy to the "good 'ol boy" style of Phil Fulmer. Grin and bear it. don't give them anything they can use. and it translated in to some very good success, but also wound up being the primary reason he's no longer here.

Today, we have a coach like a steve spurrier, at least in attitude anyway. and for all of us that know how it's been on the Hil the past several years, the team takes on the personality of the coach. and that was no more evident than watching TN play the last 5 years.

it'll be interesting to see how this team takes to it's new personality. Further, watching this program develop over the next few years, i think the imprint and competitive nature Kiffin wants for this program is almost night to day from the attitude and philisophical nature Fulmer had for it. Some of that is very good, but i do think there will be some things, eh, for lack of a better word "lost".

That's what SOS did for us. I suppose I'd feel the same way in your shoes. At least you aren't stale anymore.
