Guitar Shots to the Head: Do You Hear What I Hear?

agree about the tight rope.

i said it a couple of weeks ago, the difference between this season and 2005 is that Succup's FG missed, the vandy fg bounced off the up right and we blocked the one against KY. 3 plays the difference between a 9 win season or a 6 loss season.

it gives credance to the notion that CPF always has about "just a few plays away". the problem is, it seems we're always a few plays away from going either way.

merry christmas lex........

Excellent write up- an objective and quite accurate view of the Vols current position.

Wish I could see something like from the Knoxville media.

How do you do it, Lex? Week after week...dead on target. And you always seem to know how to put into well-arranged words what the bulk of the VolNation is feeling in their hearts.

(Note to self: check the house carefully for a hidden webcam)

You might have missed your calling. The world's loss is, fortunately in this case, our gain.

Merry Christmas, Lex.

And the VolNation.

go vols.

interesting read.

that is the first time i have heard that specific goals were spelled out (every 10 years avg of 4 SECEC and 2 SECC) by the "boss" and that the "employee" agreed to them.

i don't have an MBA, but it is my understanding that is pretty much how it is done in the corporate arena.

after what happened saturday, it is now mathematically impossible to reach the specified goals.

so, now what?

I appreciate the kind words from you guys, and the honesty Tim. I wish I could apologize, but I have to call it like I see it right now.

I didnt say you were wrong. I'm a half full kinda guy and the truth hurts.

Another great article. So now that it is impossible for him to live up to the agreement. why then is he getting a raise and or an extension?

The best one yet. I couldn't agree more. I really felt that this was the Vols' year to win the SEC. We had everything working for us and our opponents should have been "rebuilding". Now it's our turn to rebuild. I hope we build something better this time.

Also, do you think those squeakers we managed to win this year (USC, Vandy, UK) might squeak the other way next year?

:lolabove: Thanks Breaker. My wife would never accuse me of being a perfectionist. The funny thing is I am an editor by nature, but I cannot typically proof read my own work. Even worse, I usually write these things in about 30 minutes at 6 am in the morning. This particular piece took me about an hour and a half.

UK will be thin again next year. USC will be in the mix again. On a positive note, I think we will be more talented next year than we have been in the last three years. I just don't think we have kept up with the Joneses. It will be interesting to see what happens when we line it up.
