It was a great article.. I too would like there to be some other motiviation from fulmer other than the "coaches hot seat". However that being said I am sure he knows that that seat will get a lot hotter should he lose to vandy.

Lex, why do you think the ad the players took out was inappropriate and classless?

I know some folks will point out that there was another thread associated with that which I didn't read. Just wanted to understand your thoughts.

Here is an analogy for you. When I was growing up in the late 70s and the early 80s attorneys were just beginning to advertise on television. Everytime one of the adds would come on I remember my dad saying, "good attorneys don't need television ads". Why?because people generally know who the good attorneys in town are.

When I read this ad, I think three things.
1. A good coach doesn't require an ad in the paper telling fans how good he is. We know who the good coaches are.
2. Every negative comment that has been uttered this year has more bearing, weight, and credence when things like this begin to happen.
3. It reads like a page of political propoganda.

Had the ad simply thanked coach for all he has done for the university I would have considered much more appropriate and tasteful, even though the timing was still terrible.
