Guide to Jacksonville, FL

We are staying in Town Center. Anyone wanting to get together for some playoff watching on the 1st?

We're staying at Crowne Plaza on the river. Not sure where Town Center is but me & the Mrs will be looking for somewhere to watch the big games on the 1st. I've read that the Jacksonville Alumni Assoc is hosting a watch party for the games, so we may do that. But I'm certainly open to suggestions.

Its on the southside of town. Go on 95 south to 202 east and it is off of the Gate Parkway exit. Tons of shopping and restaurants.

Looking for suggestions for NYE partying. We are staying at the Crown Plaza on the river, but wondering if the scene would be better on Jax beach (or another beach)? Looks like they do a firework show and such at the landing.

Where would be a good place to watch the playoff games? We may end up at staying at the hotel if there is ample TV/sound. Aloft looks pretty cool.

IIRC you're at Aloft in Tapestry. Hooters is nearby but Id go to Alehouse (which is very close to you). Other places are World of Beer, Wild Wing Cafe or Sneakers. Sneakers and Ale House will be packed so get there very early for a table or kinda early for a bar seat.

Who has the best craft selection?

You can pull up a map and get better advice than 88 is giving you.

Do you disagree with what I'm saying? Don't have to rip me, guy. After all, I live here and in the area he is in. I have for 8 1/2 years.

I'm also not privy to any map that gives advice. Must be new. Especially one that warns people on when it'll be packed. But no, by all means pull up your map.

World of beer. Then alehouse. Other two... not so much. You also have a mellow mushroom near you and they have craft beers.

Thanks man. We hope to make it there in time to check in and find a place to spend the evening watching the games by 4:00.

Any of you mudducks going to Hooters before the game? Has anyone confirmed if the ferry will be running back and forth to the stadium?

I and a few other vols from volnation are staying near the airport. Lots of good restaurants and a bar or two. Trying to get some people to buffalo wild wings Jan 1 to watch the 2 playoff games and meet and greet. And possibly take alot of shots lol
Hey OJ, you there yet? What is hotel like? We get there after short 4 hour drive in the am. You will know me by the bright orange Nikes.

Whoever is on the N side of town use exit 363B and eat at Millhouse Steakhouse. Awesome food and Lindsey provided excellent service. Ask for her. We have been in Fl for 4 years and she made me feel like I was back in E. TN. Seeing all the orange isn't bad either!!!!
