As to Volly’s point, I realized long ago we can’t be all things to all people. Some people prefer an anything goes environment, and I can totally appreciate and understand that. Truly I can. If that’s the case, though, VolNation probably isn’t for you. That doesn’t make you a bad person or earn you any ill will from me. Our community just isn’t for you. It’s not the end of the world for anyone.

Anyway, I’m moving on. You people are being way too serious in this thread for my taste. Lol.

During football season, I sometimes visit other fan forums. Seems like everything goes in a few of them. I appreciate having a place where we can discuss things without having to do that.

Here's a random fact, I haven't cussed in about 24 years now. I used to every other word, but it's just something that really changed about me when i got in church. Not condemning anyone else for it, it just bothered me to do it.

What with being an Army brat, and then working around and with veterans for 18 years or so, I’ve got a potty mouth at times. But one thing I learned growing up is to tailor any communication to whatever group I was with, and modify if needed according to their reactions. This used to be called “common courtesy” (pretty uncommon these days.)

Anyway, you don’t know who’s in your audience on social media, so the default is to dial things back a bit. Or not, lol.

I can relate. Navy brat. I grew up on Navy bases and the term "cuss like a sailor" exists for a reason. Honestly, I try to watch my mouth in certain company, but it's just part of my vernacular. I just never saw it as bad. So I often rely on the filters to catch me.

I understand perfectly and as a Navy vet I acquired a pretty unique vocabulary, still is difficult at times not to slip up.

From birth until the sixth grade and then the tenth grade I also lived on Army bases.
