Thought both of them played a good game, they will get us in a bowl game with some improvement in the DBs!!Starting 3 freshmen is difficult to overcome when you play a team as great as WV in the passing game.Believe we will not face another passing tandem as good as we played yesterday!!

Jordan and Guarantano were bright spots for sure. Alabama and Georgia will pick us apart the same as Grier did if we don’t improve though.

Agree. They both played well. Guarantano is a tough dude. The OL started out slow but did recover and play better. Still not the power blocking, butt kicking SOBs everyone fears but let’s at least let the new staff work. I feel like most of of players were uncoached after high school.

It seems like a lot of Botch's players were like high school kids coming into Tennessee with how unpolished they seemed to be.

Impressed w JG and think we have a guy who can lead us. Thought TJ did very well too. But, keep in mind that the coaches started Chandler for a reason. So, if he's back then we are in even better shape.
And honestly I'm excited about Banks who looks the part and got PT when the game was in the balance. Were looking great at RB and WR. And QB is seriously looking up.

I tend not to, but maybe they've improved from last year....... but my guess is the bulk of their talent in on the O
I'm not sure about them either. If the WV defense isnt top 20 nationally and they stifled us that effectively...oh boy, Freak better upgrade the servers because this place will melt down.

JG throws a hard ball, but he is still throwing behind the receivers a lot of the time. If he can correct that, our receivers will have more YAKs.

I think it will happen anyway when the SEC beatings start

We thought about organizing a watch party last year before the wheels came off. This year might be a bust too. Let's just schedule a party in the retirement home when we're competing again.

Yet, none of those teams will face these guys as first-game freshmen. They are likely to have a third of a season under their belts by then. So we should be at least some improved.

But can we be improved enough in the trenches to give them enough help by then? It will be a challenge.

Those 2 played well. Very well considering how bad the line was playing most of the game.

The WR's looked effective too. Unless I'm misremembering they pretty much caught all of the catchable balls thrown their way. The punter did a good job too.

o-line is the missing piece of the puzzle. If they were just mediocre, middle of the road, nothing to write home about but yet serviceable, then this offense would go. I have no doubt about that. I don't demand greatness from them this year just don't be a liability and this offense will produce. That's what my biggest disappointment was. Not that 18 year old DB's got torched by nfl receivers and their heisman candidate.

Don't be dissapointed in a group that really hasn't had a chance to play together and gel yet. We pretty much just got missing cogs cleared in to practice right before game prep and it was every man in every spot before then. That long scoring drive showed them starting to click and as they get more time together, they will only get better.

Appreciate you not crapping on the youngsters. I wish more folks could understand that they are true freshman DB's and one of them was playing WR in high school last year and came here as a WR. Once they get a grip on how Pruitt wants that position played, they'll be just fine.
