If you keep driving the ball and kick field goals you win the game or at least give yourself a chance. Better than throwing a bunch of picks and getting blown out. I'll take a learning qb driving the field. With more pt the redzone decisions will improve.

Keep him out until we get a staff that can figure out a blocking scheme that will somewhat protect him against SEC caliber defensive players. Right now its like putting a Ming vase in the path of a tornado intentionally (I only exaggerate slightly). Brutal stuff.

A lot of it is on him. He's really slow getting rid of the ball and does a poor job recognizing blitzes

Yeah. You also left out the fact that Dormady played against UF and UGA while JG has had 3 games... and that the game plans have been hyper conservative since JG was made the starter for fear of him making mistakes that would lose games.

You also left out that most important stat... points scored.

And Dormady played with more than 7 Scholarship OL, The stats paint a different picture.

No. They don't. The OL hasn't been good at any point this year.... and JG was no better when playing with that same OL

Dormady struggled against everyone except OOC, and he struggled against UMASS as well!

This just proves that you are nothing but bias driven. How did JG do against UMass?

Guarantano has played against 4 different SEC Teams and still had fewer Turnovers than Dormady!

And of course there are reasons for that as in QD actually attempting to make throws but being let down by WR's who failed to do their jobs. JG has ONLY been given low risk throws.

I definitely think that's a mistake. He would make more mistakes and throw some INT's. But playing hyperconservative has prevented UT from beating UK and USCe. But that's who Jones is. He trusts his "system" rather than guys like JG or QD.... even though his system is about to cost him his job.



I personally don't think Dormady will make a very good SEC QB no matter who the coach is.

Even Will McBride threw the ball more consistently then Dormady!

And this proves once again that you are biased. I don't think that bias is personal with QD... and it definitely isn't "reasoned". I think you predicted JG would be the starter and became hardened in that position by arguing with people who disagreed with you (and were right). So then you were left with admitting you were wrong or investing yourself in trashing Dormady no matter what. You chose the latter.

He still isn't ready. He doesn't make pre-snap reads well. He doesn't make post snap reads well. Those are killer in Jones' "system".

Playing for someone like Chaney... he'd probably be throwing for 300 ypg like Bray did when they put him in.

At least Guarantano is showing improvement week to week. More than I can say about Dormady.

McBride may not be the best athlete of the two, but he looks to have good potential...

I really don't get this assessment. He runs fine when he takes off. Rushing yards are due to sacks, which points out his only true issue to be resolved. He tends to hold onto the ball to long like most freshmen QBs in their 3rd game as a starter I believe. Most of the throws in Saturdays game were crisp and the slight overthrow on the first play of the game that landed halfway into the endzone shows his arm is not weak.

I don't think the receivers running the wrong route is on JG at all.

Have you actually watched him play? He is not great yet, but he shows there is a potentially great QB ready to emerge....with the right coaching.

JG is the drama to the max guaratano. BroadwayJ2 has yet to even put a game together even close to Georgia Tech. By the way as far as Jones we need offensive lineman yet we have a transfer to W.V. Who started Boulware who could not get on the field. Not to mention receivers who have not made a play on a ball this season. There is not one who are as good as Preston Williams or Vic Wharton or even Daniel Helm. As Butch makes the injury excuse he needs to look in the mirror. He should have been running people in to develop them and give them an opportunity over the past 5 years. Saying you get playing time in practice is a crock. The team does not hit a lot in practice so the only real way to move up now is playing time. Look at what Smart did to us this year. They were subbing whole units. If we were rebuilding then you don't fall apart like this cluster. Time to move on....

Dormady got worse as the season went on. Guarantano is getting better each game. I'd even go as far as saying if he started the season, we'd very likely have a winning record. He makes throws Dormady cannot make. Plays Dormady cannot make. He's tough! I have no doubt he would've made Florida look very bad as well as SC and KY being more seasoned going in. The mistake Butch made was starting Dormady.

JG hasn't been asked to do much.
Dormady tried to do too much. A bad oline and young WR corp spells disaster.

JG has got to get in the weight room. He looks feeble out there.

QD got pulled because he had more turnovers than TDs it was a lose lose battle.

This statement isn't baseed on bias it is based on performance. Dormady's performance hasn't been good, he hasn't shown anyone that he can compete against SEC defenses....I know you think it is Butch, But Butch didn't make all those bad throws or decisions, Dormady did!

I was thinking the receivers were more like 1 for 8 catching. Whether it was JG or WM, the passes were majority on spot. Byrd dropped a wide open ain't gonna get hit pass on a slant.

Because the competition got harder, I agree. Dormady was fine against our OOC schedule but was horrible against SEC teams. Everyone gave me crap over saying I didn't think he was ready for the SEC and look how he performed.

JG has been better against SEC than Dormady was. Yeah Dormady played GA and Florida, But JG played Alabama and still didn't look worse than Dormady! Floridas defense has proven it really isn't that good!
