Wow 1 TD, that's a player.

Exactly let’s crucify a fresh QB over his first 4 starts against sec competition with a nonservicable front line!

Dumb post is dumb. He’s doing fine and maturing game to game. If he had an extra 2.5 sec per down I think he’s be dangerous.

Take out the sacks, which shouldn’t be taken off of rushing totals anyway, and JG has 32 carries for 139 yards and a TD. I was a big QD fan, but I don’t believe Quentin was rushing for 139 yards on 100 carries, much less 32.

Where are you getting those stats from? NCAA.Com has JG as NEGATIVE 26 yards rushing

McBride has his first TD in fewer games as a TRUE freshman:thud:

You're correct, I should've mentioned those WR screen plays also. If you want to argue that the majority of his completions haven't been some form of a screen pass, have fun with that. Nobody said he hasn't completed some passes down field and nobody said he called his own plays. I realize that screen plays are very important in todays offenses, I have nothing against them. I just aint gonna let somebody try to convince me that his high completion percentage isn't in most part due to him throwing mostly screen passes. Fact his, hes thrown a lot of screen passes, if he had been throwing more passes down field, his % would be a lot less in my opinion. I don't deny that hes made some impressive throws down the field either. So far, he reminds me of Josh Dobbs without the ability to scramble.

What’s the breakdown of yards in the air vs yac?

I think it comes down to a couple of things:
1. Toughness - he's not afraid to take a hit (e.g., TD pass to Wolf where he got smacked as he threw it)
2. Running ability

Those are two areas we haven't seen out of QD or JG and contributes to the "moxie" some have mentioned.

Get back to me when WM faces Alabama and LSU.

Those numbers don't look that bad. Id be willing to bet that at least 80% of his 64% is screen passes.

Its just hard to judge anything with our o-line status right now. All I know for sure is, he looks scared to death and slow when scrambling. Hopefully some blocking will help.

Playing on a sprained ankle will make anyone look slow. But, what do injuries matter to all these immaculate coaches and analysts here on VN.

That’s because he was sacked like 50 times. KB said without sacks

My bad I totally skipped without sacks part. You can't take out sacks! That's like saying take out interceptions!

I'm sorry but I cringe when I see JG on the field. His facial expressions are also annoying and kind of creepy. Every time the camera is on him he looks like he is Sooo confused and has no idea what he's doing and is squinting like he's going blind or something.

McBride scrambles better than eggs in the morning. He can turn nothing into something. JG will just throw the ball straight down at the ground or take the sack. Heck most of the time he doesn't even know the sack is coming.

McBride would have outstanding passing numbers if the staff told him to throw screens every game too.

He looked slow before he sprained that ankle lol

It's time for change guys. Butch wasn't the answer and neither is JG.

Apparently he's been injured since he stepped on campus

Im not gonna declare that he's not the answer yet but its not looking good so far. Good coaching and a healthy o-line can make things look a lot better though. Either way, I don't ever see him as a good scrambler. Maybe he just looks so awkward because Dobbs was so good at it?

Dormady cost us the florida game with his monumentally dumb decision to audible from run to pass when we were at the florida 1 yard line. Ultimately, Scott and Jones are responsible for giving a QB that kind of freedom--idiotic--but a lot of revisionist history going on here. We weren't exactly thriving with Dormady.

UT has become a team that if you can play more than 2 games without getting hurt, it is considered an accomplishment.

omg maybe we was wrong about Dormady smh the offense was better with him in there.. Wil Mcbride going to be good to but this JG kid is not good at all im sorry he hold on the ball to long he just don't get rid of it quick enough

Maybe if our next coach doesn't run a system where the quarterback is required to also be a running back, then maybe we can find one who is better at quarterbacking. Then there is the whole offensive line issue.
