Make sure you have a box of tampons with you....just in case.

Some of us have reservations about this game, especially to open the season. We all saw how the opening game against a Sun Belt team went last year in Neyland of all places... a bounce going our way (literally) in overtime. But I get it, it's a new season, new team, new coaching staff. However, there are more unknowns heading into this season than last year. I think they'll beat Tech, but after the USC and Vandy games call me a little jaded.

I just hope our D comes out of this game injury free. I don't like this matchup one bit. GT cut blocking with our injury history is a really bad combination. Bad bad juju written all over this game

I said it before, if they take out one of ours with a cut block I would make sure their QB misses several games.

if we win we will get no credit. GT is a smash mouth football team. i agree with the other posts , there are going to be plays hurt in this game. opening with them is nuts.

Is the IS game a noon kickoff?

Will the crowd be into the game?

Or will they sleepwalk thru it all?

Be ready Volnation, show out for 121.

Go Vols!

Hate it being a freaking Monday night game also -- less than 4 days til the next game -- what was that idiot AD thinking ?

You're kidding, right? Indiana State. I worked at ISU for 4 years. We could start the practice squad against the Sycamores and win by 50 on 4 days rest.

We will also be able to play a lot of young guys and not have to worry about burning a redshift due to the new rule. No big deal.

One reason we probably did it is because we get Indiana State in the next game. Should only need to starters for a half.

Not trying to be all doom and gloom but I absolutely hate this matchup to open a season. We got everything to lose and nothing to gain imo. I hate playing these types of offenses.

We have almost nothing to lose. It means nothing in terms of any realistic goals we should be shooting for.

This is true.

Won't seem that way if we lose. Or just squeeze out the win.

Having played a game (be it a long time ago) in that situation, knocking the QB out of the game is easier said than done. We got it done, but, it took the likes of one Lon Herzbrun to finish him off. Carted off the field on a stretcher, numb as a haddock...

The next game is a scrimmage, and the reason why this game could be scheduled the way it was. Exposure and $.

Probably more for $$ than exposure iirc -- I took the whole week off so I am covered -- hope other fans are as well -- Would really like to know if UT/GT are getting the same $$$ that FSU and Alabama are getting for this game.
