Junior starting pitcher Steven Gruver twirled seven strong innings, striking out seven, and all nine Tennessee starters had at least one hit as the Volunteers defeated Auburn, 5-2, on Thursday night at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Gruver has had a very good season under lousy circumstances. He was dominant through five tonight. Of course, the couple of hundred people who showed up were appreciative. Dollar cokes really packed them in.

I dunno...food for thought...

Hobock, who you like for next HC?

I like the guy that can bring the best assistants. They do all the meaningful recruiting.

When you posted Serrano's salary, it stood way out. If we're interested, how could he turn down almost triple his current salary?
The only thing that could stop me would be family or current contract expiration.

Well, the salary I posted for Serrano and the others was just a base salary, and I'm not sure if it's accurate, with extensions and all. Last time I checked they were a top 15 team, so...why would he come here unless the money is awesome, for his staff too.

I can't believe, based on all the other hires, that Serrano will be the guy. Maybe I'll be surprised.

Huh? How can they do that? Off campus facility?

Yes. Lousiville has built almost all of their facilities off-campus, and they just happen to be able to serve beer/liquor at all games. The new basketball arena has whiskey bars everywhere, and it is very nice. (The woman's family lives up there and are huge Cards fans).

Smart play.

Once again It's Gruver that helps the Vols get back in the Win Column.
Gruver was a ace in his last start of 2011.
Game One the Vols are successful as a spoiler. Now Hope they can continue in game.
Was this on ESPN 3?
