IF and I do mean IF Tennessee gets Gruden....What identity do you all think Coach Gruden would install at Tennessee on both sides of the ball? The college game is a lot different from the NFL after all.

"Coach Gruden," has a nice ring to it doesn't it?

He has been out of coaching for 9YEARS!

He will run what his assistant coaches are good at first I'm sure.

He will be a recruiting machine & QB coach to start out getting back into a groove.

honestly even if he is that and that only, Im fine with it. I hope he gets out of his own way if he needs to, unlike Butch.

Oh yea I'm 100% fine with it. He would mop up in recruiting. Let his coaches coach and lean on them, learn the college game for a year with great assistant coaches a good roster at Tennessee.

While most associate Gruden with offense, his teams were always primarily defense focused.

He won with quarterbacks like Rich Gannon and Brad Johnson. Known for tough physical defense.

Like really good coaches, his philosophy is Defense wins championships.

Yes it does have a nice ring to it and I hope he does become the new coach. Payton Manning as a QB coach With Gruden would be a dream team.

How awesome is that compared to what we’ve had. Imagine a coach who knows how to game plan in such a way that can win with flipping Brad Johnson.

I agree. However to think he has forgotten how to coach is off base. All the dude has been doing the last 9 years is watching film every day, studying tendencies and talking to every coach in the NFL to learn from them. He's been doing qb camp for years...a lot of coaching involved there. Not talked about so much is his deep contacts in coaching community. Filling out a staff would not be a problem.

Will it happen? Hope so.

exactly. Imagine his game management alone. Sad that "game management," is a desired quality trait but Im telling you him being gone from the game for 9 years isnt as bad as folks think. He hasnt been sitting at home, hes been very active.

He was fired from his last NFL coaching job for not winning enough games.

Interesting trivia: Bill Belichik was fired as head coach of the Cleveland Browns after the 95 season just prior to Art Modell moving team to Baltimore.

Belichik's DC from 91-94 was Nick Saban.

Wonder if any Cleveland fans ever think about that.

The greatest NFL and College coach of the modern era on the same staff still couldn't succeed in Cleveland.
