Gruden?

Anyone saying Gruden wouldn't come here and recruit #1 classes every year is past lost. Really??!?? We would out-recruit every one and Gruden would put together a hell of a staff. He is by far the best we could have come here. The only concern I have would be how long would he stay.

Where would he go anytime soon? He's already won a SB in the NFL

Good times ahead

I’m not opposed to it I guess but what’s all the hype about? His career record as a coach is 100-85 that’s not good. Chip Kelly could win in college but couldn’t in the NFL. Gruden couldn’t win in the NFL other than 1 fluke Super Bowl win so what makes us think he can win in college?

I know he could probably attract big time assistants because he’s popular, and he’s a self proclaimed QB guru that can break down plays pretty well but I just don’t see much else. I’m not knocking the idea at all guys anything is better than what we have. I just wanted to know if I’m missing something?

Yes, in addition to his acumen with Xs & Os, you're missing the fact that Jon Gruden would be the BEST RECRUITER IN THE COUNTRY. How can any other coach compete against a coach with that kind of charisma and a gleaming Super Bowl ring? Imagine reeling in 5-star recruits nationwide and relegating Alabama and Georgia to regional backup options. The recruiting success Jim Harbaugh's had at Michigan is only a fraction of what Gruden would do for Tennessee.

So, yeah, I'd say you're missing something.
