Growing Schism in Democratic Party

Yep. Not sure why Obama took the left agenda of all he really wants is Democratic control. He should know he had to help himself and at least appear as a centrist.

Get that weaksauce outa here!

Last week you had McCain, the GOP nominee in 2008, calling Rand Paul, a contender for the 2016 nomination, a "wacko." And the Paul saying McCain and Graham show him no respect.

Right, but Obama's whole goal these two years is to win 2014. If Democratic candidates believe they are getting hurt by the White House, thus trying to distance themselves from the White House, then it becomes very relevant.

Ok, but there always people who have to go back to the center to try to win the general in any race like that. That's not a schism.

On the other hand, the GOP is basically in tatters at this point. Consider:

1) One of the companies for the largest GOP contributor (Addelson) is involved in bribing Chinese officials; 2) one of the presumptive GOP frontrunners for 2016 is named Bush (ugh, can you imagine another one?); 3) another frontrunner, Rubio, had a disastrous national debut in his response to the SOU; 4) another candidate, Rand Paul, is being called a wacko by the party leadership; 5) the Republican-led House has the lowest approval rating of all time; 6) the NRA won't let the GOP vote for something 92 % of the country supports; 7) ....

By 2016 no one will remember Rubio wiping sweat away and drinking water.

But he is not going to the center. That is the problem.

On the other hand, the GOP is basically in tatters at this point. Consider:

Agreed.

1) One of the companies for the largest GOP contributor (Addelson) is involved in bribing Chinese officials;

It is damn near impossible to do business in China without bribing.

2) one of the presumptive GOP frontrunners for 2016 is named Bush (ugh, can you imagine another one?);

Will never get elected.

3) another frontrunner, Rubio, had a disastrous national debut in his response to the SOU;

No.

4) another candidate, Rand Paul, is being called a wacko by the party leadership;

Not a big deal although he did no favors for his party by filibustering. It did give him a lot of positive attention.

5) the Republican-led House has the lowest approval rating of all time;

Let's not act like this figure is in a vacuum. It is the accumulation of disappointment and frustration over the course of many years with Washington in general.

Let's not act like it is a GOP thing.

6) the NRA won't let the GOP vote for something 92 % of the country supports; 7) ....

Emotion has worn off. Once the knee jerk reaction subsided, people cooled off about it.

You speak as if the Dem party with its Maxine waters, nancy pelosi, dick durbin, joe Biden, Jesse Jackson jr, Marion berry, Corrine brown, Sheila Jackson lee, Anthony wiener, and various other moronic loons is without fault.
