If you look at some of his earlier tweets further down the page, he is making fun of UT with fans of other schools. Atleast most journalists try to hide their hatred of certain schools. He certainly isn't trying to hide his.

Florida grad, lives in Cincy, bashes the Cincy sports (all of them every chance he gets), on top of that his "expertise" is college basketball. He's used to UC football where it is an afterthought and they have about 55,000 fans in a stadium that holds 60,000...

Completely different mentality that SEC football. I'm originally from Cincy - completely different.

He's just a schmuck... move long folks, nothing to see here.

He's right part of the time, but all of the time he comes across like a crusty old man mad at the world. I think he's wrong about this particular subject as well as the Dooley hire. He has without a doubt the most caustic attitude on this board, and it rubs a lot of people the wrong way. Sometimes his acerbic barbs amuse, but in my opinion he's taken it a bit too far lately.

Had nothing better to do so I sent him an email. If our students were so "deranged", how were the campus cops able to handle this incident? I mean don't you think the police would have been on the scene to handle the murder, rape and general debauchery perpetrated these deranged students? Not campus cops whose duties consist of writing tickets for parking violations and underage drinking.

I disagree. There were a very select few idiots, that set stuff on fire, but most of us (myself included) were there to try and relieve a lot of disappointment and feelings of betrayal. I am sorry to say, I know a few of the people that burned the mattresses, but out of the 1000+ students that were there, I don't think 15 of them represent the whole group, much like our group of 1000 doesn't represent the entire fanbase.

I mean, he's rough on the fans that mobbed, but it doesn't sound like he blames them. That's the impression I got from reading the article initially. I was surprised by all the negative comments.

I don't condone the behavior of some of the students...it got a little carried away but if anyone that doesn't understand why UT fans would be pizzed at Lame Kitten...they are obviously on the outside looking in...or a USC fan. :eek:lol:

The responses/comments to this guys article pretty much sum it up...screw him and screw Kiffin.

What happened to sports reporting? That article is way short on facts and long on words like twerp, weasel, kiffy, etc.

Ironic that he trashes fans for overreacting when his entire article is an example of shock journalism. Take a look in the mirror Mr. Doyle.

Does anyone write about sports any more or does every article have to incorporate a "reality TV" vibe?
