Greg Roberts is a guest on the George Lapides Show here in Memphis and he runs some kind of betting service. He is a guest every Friday to talk about the college and NFL games for the weekend.
He picked USC by 2 TDs or at best a 17-7 type game.
Sadly, he might be right.
Sounds about right to me unfortunately.
On another note, Lapides is still on the air? That ole coot was barely coherent 7 years ago when I was in Memphis, I can't believe they still let him choke up the airwaves.
A woman who understands football. Geez if she were only Blonde, boobsy, and politically independant with a taste for black and white movies. It wouldn't surprise me if SC does win this game...
However, I do think Tennessee will keep it close, I think it will be a defensive battle just like the LSU/SC game.
It will be about which offense steps up to ultimately win the game, will it be Tenn or will it be SC? Of course with our offense, it's obvious to think SC, but SC's inconsistency with QB is just as bad as the consistently bad offense of Tenn.
Neither team runs the ball well, so it will all come down to the passing of the qb and/or the defenses getting picks to run for scores.
FG kickers for both teams are just as inconsistent.
So Tenn's Defense will win the game if they step up when they should.
This program has fallen on some hard times if carolina beats us by two touchdowns. A team vanderbilt absolutely owned ealier this year.

I'm picking USC by a score of 23-16. I will also predict that there will be a game this year where the wheels will completly fall off and the Vols will give in. If you look closely, you will notice that some of these cracks are appearing. My point is, the possibility exists that USC could bury us if things begin to go badly for us (ex. turnovers, poor special teams play, etc.).
It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see South Carolina win this game by 10 to 14 points.
The Gamecocks still have many of their season goals in front of them...Tennessee has nothing other than pride to play for.
And, if reports on the Hamilton/Sexton/Fulmer meeting earlier this week are true, I find it hard to believe that UT's coaching staff had it's best effort this week in terms of film study and game prep. South Carolina has had 2 full weeks to prepare for this game, and I doubt Tennessee had a very crisp and efficient week of practice.
I hope the Vols prove me wrong.
