If true, wonder where it'd be, what position(a return to coaching doesn't have to mean head coach, of course) and how much of the Alabama fan base would want DeBoer gone and Saban back at head coach if it is head coaching that Saban wants to return to.

While I don’t believe this-before anybody says he’s ā€œtoo oldā€ to come back, Pete Carroll is even older, and Bill Belichick is the same age as Saban. Both will be coaching their first season at new jobs this fall.

If Saban does come back, I think the most likely team will be Virginia Tech. They’ll probaly be hunting for a new coach after this season, and they want to return to the Beamer days. I could totally see them putting their chips on the table here.

Not sure who else makes sense. But the funniest team would be Auburn. Can you imagine?

If he comes back its because he misses the attention. After being pampered left and right for years, then suddenly out of the spotlight and people not clamoring for you anymore I'm sure is a difficult adjustment to make. Also misses the control I'm sure. Some ppl just can't handle retirement, I see it all of the time and just everyday ppl, not only the rich & spoiled.

He won’t come back to college unless the NIL and transfer portal are changed. NFL perhaps, but I don’t know why he would.

I'm not sure someone like Saban misses attention. I can definitely see him missing being in control of something/building something. He isn't a "head to the golf course and enjoy my time and money" kind of guy. Which is both a good and bad thing.

I can't relate to it whatsoever because it isn't my personality, but people who are wired like him get antsy when they don't have something concrete to do.

I can see him as a CFB GM, now that they have them. Maybe as an AD.

Return to coaching? Don’t see it.

What would be the point? The $ of course is good, but he doesn’t need it. The quality of life for a head football coach in college is the worst it’s ever been in terms of work/life balance. The circus that would accompany him returning would be ridiculous, the expectations would be through the roof and where would he go? OU, USC, UF all have the potential to be pretty good or they have the potential to fall very flat and fire their coach, although I don’t know what Lincoln’s buyout would be . I don’t see Saban in LA either. I have a hard time buying that he would comeback unless it was an administrative role.

I wonder if he'd try the NFL again, though I think the results would be no better and probably even worse. I wondered if it always bothered him he did so poorly there.

I doubt it. Even if he wanted to try it again, I doubt any NFL teams would hire him, given it’s been almost 20 years (Jesus, now I feel old) since he last coached in the League, and it didn’t exactly go so well.

Ms Vicky must not be putting out
Miss Vicky was Tiny Tim's wife.

Mrs Terry handles Saban and she's unlikely to let him coach again unless they go back to Bama.

Saban surely sees Belichick and UNC trying to adapt to each other and knows better than to come to, think about what it would be like at UT, or Michigan State or WV or anywhere except Bama and try to be his "I control it all" self.

It's not happening unless he goes back to Bama.

I always get Tiny Tim and Tiny Nick crossed up.

Saban will flame out again if he goes to the NFL… I could see him going to Oklahoma or FSU if either of their coaches get fired.

First reported by a former gump McElroy. Watched Paul F today he wasn't foaming at the mouth so it's not happening at least not this year.

His time has passed. I don’t think it will happen, but I would love for him to come back to the SEC so the Vols could kick his buttocks some more.

I’m all for dunking on Bama but you do remember that he was usually the one doing the kicking right?

Q. The hot rumor yesterday was a second-hand rumor about Nick Saban possibly being interested in coming back to coaching. Lane Kiffin said he wouldn't be surprised. I was wondering if you could share your reaction as well as your relationship with Nick Saban since he's retired.

KIRBY SMART: Yeah, I called and offered him Muschamp's job but he was overqualified, so he wasn't interested.

No, I heard all the scuttlebutt and everything about it. I almost laughed. It was like somebody needed something interesting to talk about yesterday, so they chose to go to Coach Saban to do it.

The game is better with him involved, and he is involved. He is passionate about it. He and I still talk and share ideas from time to time about defensive philosophies and the way to do things, and he's still watching tape and very, very involved in football. He loves it.

His brilliance, as brilliant as he is in many ways is around football. It's around scheming. It's around another way to do something to stay ahead of the offensive minds, and I think that's one of the elite talents he has, and he still loves that. He's still passionate about that.

But make no mistake about it. The boss at home is going to make that call for him, not him.

I don’t think this happens, at least I hope not. There is nothing about him coming back to coaching that I would like to see happen. I’m sure if he really wanted to he could still be extremely successful, but I don’t won’t to see that.

Also, not that I think it would happen, but I would hate to see the greatest college football coach of all time come out of retirement and things not go well. I think it would make me literally sick to my stomach to hear media and CFB pundits going on about how the game has passed him by and such.

So there is nothing good that can come from Saban returning for me. Let the GOAT stay retired and stay the GOAT, and for Goodness sake, please don’t let him come back and VICKtimize my Dawgs anymore!šŸ˜‚

Seriously though, this ain’t happening, and I’m just joking about the Vick comment. I just thought it was funny. I actually like and respect how Mike paid for his mistakes and turned his life around.
