Greenland

I think it’s weird that you guys have attempted to turn trumps ability to move away from bad ideas into a negative.

It’s one of the better things about the man. I can’t name a poor Biden policy he reversed course on

The weirder part is that you believe that there are no ramifications of him putting forth the terrible idea to begin with, that Denmark, NATO, and Europe as a whole, will just follow trump into his delusion and pretend that the whole thing was "4-D chess".

Go ahead. Tell me the ramifications of this?

I have not seen details but they gave up 'small pockets', maintaining sovereignty over the rest of Greenland.

I do not think Trump was ever wanting to control all of Greenland, just space to put up more military bases and be involved in the minerals.

You're either giving up land or you're not, as far as the rest why would they be interested, they don't need the U.S. for any of this.

This doesn't seem to be solved in the slightest at this stage, the Jawtator football spike when he has 99 yards to go.

Totally understandable and not his fault. Erik the Red intentionally named the more icy one “Greenland.” Gotta have serious TDS to expect him to keep them straight. Blame Erik.
They call it Greenland, folks, very misleading, very unfair. Greenland isn’t green. I’ve seen it. It’s ice. A lotta ice. Tremendous ice. And then you’ve got Iceland, but it’s actually greener than Greenland. Nobody talks about that. Why is that? You look at a map and you say, “Who named these places?” Not very smart people, I can tell you that. It’s the worst deal we’ve ever had.

it's a win-win scenario Trump creates so it can be said both sides win to save face for Denmark, but Trump gets what he wanted all along and Denmark can claim they got what they wanted.

Not a win for our relationship with (former) allies and standing in the world. A new world order is taking shape and the United States is not trusted.

Who will the impulsive trump threaten next and what will they have to give up?

And when trump changes his mind tomorrow does the positive become a negative or visa versa?

You pretend as though he either had that strategy all along, or arrived at the decision to back down on his own. Neither is true.

He came back with nothing

👉 you are here

Ok he came back with something but it's nothing

Ok it's not nothing but it will never last

Ok it will last but it's too expensive

Ok it's not too expensive but it's stupid

I never said he came back with nothing

Literally nothing I said suggested either of those things. I’m certain it wasn’t his strategy and I imagine the president arrived at decisions through the advisor of his staff.

You’re just making things up

Its more simple than that. The maga cult leader can do no wrong, everything he does (or doesn't do!) is angelic perfection to the maga cult.

When he reverses bad policy, you’ll see me support it. If he reverses good policy, you’ll see me oppose it.

So threatening and extorting allies that we bled with 80+ years ago to establish a world order that made us the most powerful nation in the word is good policy?

You do understand that the United States is no longer trusted and that isn't good, right?

You may believe so. I’ve never made that claim.

You do understand that the United States is no longer trusted and that isn't good, right?

I don’t even know what that means.

I don't know if that lack of trust is like you think.

We'll have a better idea over the next decade if this lunatic voting base keeps pushing too far in either direction or if things gravitate more towards the center. World leaders know this admin is only here for three more years. I think they know that most Americans think this foreign policy is a hot, steaming turd.

You expect me to read an Annie speech by the PM of Canada? Or do you think you could just answer the question?

There was an executive summary that explained what you didn't understand. Copied here for your convenience:

  • Carney emphasized the end of the rules-based international order and outlined how Canada was adapting by building strategic autonomy while maintaining values like human rights and sovereignty.
  • The Canadian PM called for middle powers, such as his own, to work together to counter the rise of hard power and the great power rivalry, in order to build a more cooperative, resilient world.

His speech explained how the west can no longer trust the United States.

This president was somehow elected by the american people, that's what they don't trust.

This narrative is for the masses. Behind the scenes it’s all about how he’s showing the world how inept their polices have been and are. They’re simply not used to someone who speaks their mind, unfiltered, in front of a camera. IE, he’s hurting their feelings.

It sounds like a dumb speech. But I’ve fully opposed Trump’s tariffs. Also the Canadian PM claiming this is the “end of the rules based international order” sounds like overly dramatic 13 year old girl lingo

And ran to China who is who he claims the US is. His rant lacks self awareness and frankly shows how ignorant he is.

I think the fallout from Davos will show that its not just Canada. Threatening military action on allies won't soon be forgotten.

Nor will the 9 month saga of tariff / no tariff.
