Greenland

How exactly is the NATO secretary general making deals on Greenland?

Found my own answer. 😂
Trump Postpones Tariff Threat, Has "Framework" For "Forever" Greenland Deal | ZeroHedge

*TRUMP SAYS `I ASSUME' DENMARK HAS WEIGHED IN POSSIBLE DEAL INVOLVING GREENLAND

Update 2:
Denmark apparently has said it will speak with Trump, that appears to be about it.
Danish FM says open to direct talks with Trump
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen has publicly accepted U.S. President Donald Trump's invitation to speak directly regarding Denmark's position on Greenland, said Danish local media on Wednesday.
"I'd actually like to say it to his face. I've also said other things to his face. I think I can handle that," said Rasmussen during an interview with Danish Broadcasting Corporation.

When did NATO take sovereign control of Greenland? Asking for a friend.
You don’t get it….

It’s NOT HARD.

USA pulls out of NATO millions will die in a war against Russia.

VS 50,000 70,000 whatever people in Greenland.
Did Russia ask to buy Ukraine? No they just invaded. We’re at least doing a deal. And YES we absolutely will take it if this doesn’t move fast enough.

This stuff isn’t hard to understand.

I have 3 jobs. I think my vote would be better used somewhere besides Greenland.

Greenland was neither a forethought nor afterthought till he popped of a stupid comment and had to back it up.

LMAO I’ll take that gibberish as a “NATO does not have sovereign control over Greenland”.

And on the bolded just today your president said he wouldn’t do that. Did he lie?

You are aware that the US is not the only nuclear armed member of NATO, correct?

France and the UK have between the two of them ~425 operational nuclear warheads.

It doesn't sound like anything has changed to me, the U.S. already has the ability under the treaty to expand military operations. He is telling Denmark you shouldn't have to foot the bill i.e. give/sell it to me.

I would imagine any deal that he agrees to involves the ability to extract resources either by purchase, royalty or similar.

Update, and here it is:
Greentanamo: Trump Deal Gives US Sovereignty Over Small Pockets Of Greenland For Military Bases | ZeroHedge

"where top military officers from the alliance’s member states discussed a compromise in which Denmark would give the United States sovereignty over small pockets of Greenlandic land where the United States could build military bases."

So, the deal that isn't a deal (as Denmark has no idea), Denmark would have to give up sovereignty to land of Greenland, either in whole or part. NATO is trying to negotiate a deal that has nothing to do with NATO and which the sovereign isn't even included. 😂

We've seen this show before, its called "TACO."

And in this episode of the series, Trump will once again get talked down off the ledge. He'll be pacified with some face-saving gesture, maybe an award of some kind plus a meaningless promise to allow more bases (hint: we can already do that per a 1951 treaty).

Trump will claim he's won some new concession of some meaning, he'll have a 3 hour cabinet meeting where the usual gang will laud his brilliance (while behind closed doors they are rolling their eyes at his latest impulsive nonsense) ... and nothing will actually change.

As explained many times before, Trump in his negotiations starts with high demands knowing you will come down to what he was wanting all along. It's not call TACO but called.......

Art of the Deal

In The Art of the Deal, Donald Trump outlines his negotiation strategy as aiming for the highest possible demand, persistently pushing, and often settling for less than the initial ask, but still securing a favorable outcome, emphasizing leverage and not appearing desperate. He calls it "aiming high" and "pushing" until the deal works, sometimes finding creative paths (like alternative uses for a property) if the first plan stalls.

Key Elements of Trump's "Art of the Deal" Style:
  • Aim High: Start with extremely ambitious goals, knowing you'll likely negotiate down.
  • Push Relentlessly: Keep pressing the other side to wear them down and get concessions.
  • Maximize Options: Always have multiple ways to achieve your goal; don't get fixated on one path.
  • Leverage is Key: Identify and use what the other party needs or wants to gain power.
  • Never Seem Desperate: Appearing needy weakens your position, according to Trump.
  • Protect the Downside: Plan for the worst-case scenario so you can live with it, making the good outcomes even better.
Trump's approach is about creating perceived strength, using negotiation as a form of showmanship, and strategically maneuvering to get favorable terms, even if it's not exactly the initial, extraordinary demand. - GROK

🚨Breaking News: Details of the Trump-Greenland deal are starting to be revealed:

1. The U.S. will gain control of “Small small pockets of land” in Greenland

2. The U.S. will be involved in Greenland's mineral rights

Greenland is estimated to hold reserves of natural resources worth as much as $5 trillion.

3. The U.S. “Golden Dome” system will be involved in Greenland when it’s built

4. The deal is designed to block Russian and Chinese influence in Greenland

5. This will open the door to US-backed infrastructure investment

6. The duration of the deal will have an “indefinite” timeframe

This means President Trump will have secured land, minerals, and defense in one deal

So, basically they're giving up sovereignty, but we (Denmark) will pretend we didn't give up sovereignty.

Denmark has said Danish sovereignty remains non-negotiable, US gets "small pockets"

But what you are saying is negotiable, they gave up sovereignty.

They are saying up to this point, they really don't want anything but you can operate under the existing treaty. (which can be revoked)

If you can't legally force the U.S. off, they gave up sovereignty, imo. The rest that is outlined, isn't what Denmark or the Greenlanders appear to want either, so.... they would lose especially if phony money is involved.

I think it’s weird that you guys have attempted to turn trumps ability to move away from bad ideas into a negative.

It’s one of the better things about the man. I can’t name a poor Biden policy he reversed course on
A better thing would be to just never start this stupid 💩 in the first place wouldn’t it?

I have not seen details but they gave up 'small pockets', maintaining sovereignty over the rest of Greenland.

I do not think Trump was ever wanting to control all of Greenland, just space to put up more military bases and be involved in the minerals.
