This could all have been avoided with just making the case to Denmark and NATO on why we needed an increased presence. Denmark has been a very solid supporter of US policy. Well until now anyway

And in this episode of the series, Trump will once again get talked down off the ledge. He'll be pacified with some face-saving gesture, maybe an award of some kind plus a meaningless promise to allow more bases (hint: we can already do that per a 1951 treaty).

Trump will claim he's won some new concession of some meaning, he'll have a 3 hour cabinet meeting where the usual gang will laud his brilliance (while behind closed doors they are rolling their eyes at his latest impulsive nonsense) ... and nothing will actually change.

You guys are being ridiculous. I can’t even believe we have a thread on this.

The only reason we bombed Venezuela is because they stole our oil and Maduro refused to count votes in an election that he clearly lost and therefore everybody agrees he was a dictator. Also drugs and stuff.

It would be absolutely crazy for us to do anything even remotely like that in Greenland. What have they stolen? Who is their dictator?
