Greatest press conference ever?

Definitely a Southern guy. I liked the press conference and thought Pruitt did well. He has a great energy about him. I respect his decision to finish his coaching duties in the playoffs.

Solid first impression for me and also can see how he relates to recruits. Hate to say this but I hope the Crimson Tide win the NC. Could be good pub with CJP as our new HC.

I’m glad you said it. It crossed my mind, if they play well then he’ll get a lot of mentions as the new HC at UT.....which will give us great pub

I hate to wish Bama well but the chit we’ll do for UT huh

Feeling fired up right now. Pruitt is putting together the makings of a staff in a few days that the former dude couldn't do in 5 years.

BTW GetEmVols, I kindly implore and beg of you to change your avatar ASAP.

Kept it short and sweet, didn't fill us with any hot air or empty promises (none of that "the best staff in America" bs). He nailed it. Will bring that energy back to TN football and he will recruit at a very high level. Going to be exciting if he can manage to sway some big fish before NSD as well as assemble an ace staff. He's already done really well with the staff, just need to keep it going. Curious to see how he handles the S&C staff in particular.

I can tell he's a great motivator. Did you hear him say the team was shaking there legs on the edge of there seats, There ready already.

Was great to see a real coach up there again. The guy is no nonsense. He wants to play smash mouth football. He's going to adapt to the strengths of his players. I'm all in with Coach Pruitt!

I like the hire, but Dooley and Jones won their early press conferences too

Dooley did? Huh, don't remember that at all. Probably cause I didn't watch it. All I saw was his record at La Tech. I remember feeling very underwhelmed with Jones until he started building his '14 class. Again, don't recall his press conference either. Was very forgettable. Pruitt did it right and sounded like an actual human being who was ready to put in the work, not someone who needed to prop himself up by giving false promises to the Vol nation (Butch) or be zany and clever to try and charm the fanbase into liking him (Dooley). Kiffin had a pretty good press conference from what I remember.

And in five years if Pruitt doesn’t pan out, your false narrative memory will talk about how you never liked Pruitt from the beginning either.

I don’t care about the “greatest press conference ever”. I’m sure it’s been mentioned already but I care about winning on the field.

He was nervous but I can see how he can connect with the players. At one time in the presser you could tell he was gettting ramped up and ready to get it over with and get to work.

I like that.

My false narrative memory? Man I watched more Vol games with Kiffin as HC than I did with Dooley as HC (which is was like maybe 4 or 5). I rated Pruitt a 4/10 with the chance of being 6/10 with the right hires - so far he's made the right hires. I'm not a blind sunshine pumper, so believe what you will I guess. If you can't get excited about his recruiting abilities that's your deal - I think he's a good gamble hire, moreso than Butch (who rode Brian Kelly's coattail to get the UT gig and lost to Dooley, which was another reason to pump the brakes) and it goes without saying he's better than the loser from La Tech. His recruiting prowess is his biggest selling point (which is exactly what's needed here) and he's a complete 180 from used salesman approach Botch used. Besides, Botch was a Google hire like Dooley. Pruitt has instant name recognition, something Butch and Dooley did not have.

I like him so far but he aint here to talk. He's here to win and i hope he does a whole lot of it.

.....but PC's, Dooley had some awesome ones. He was a idiot genius imho. Funny and kinda of smart but acted dumber than a box of hammers. Wasnt quite as funny at the time but looking back i cant help but enjoy them.

He!! Pruitt didnt even mention Rommel
