Great To See...

There was such vast improvements in our defense and special teams that's it's hard to believe that it's the same team that played the first 4 games.

The first time this year I've seen the D fire off the ball like they mean it. O-line was very impressive and it appears, contrary to previous performances, that TN does have a rushing game. If you wanted to script "the perfect SEC game" then this would have been close to it. Total domination of the line of scrimmage. For Fat Boy to play "Tennessee football" that's what you must have and good to see it again finally! Does it make up for the FL debacle? No - I will never forgive Fatboy for all the heartbreak over so many years against the Gators. But it does give me hope that we may salvage something of a season. I'm tired of salvaging seasons though. Give me that TN program that should friggin' dominate it.

Tonight? As my roomate in Memphis was born, raised and still lives in Baton Rouge, gotta give the Bengal Tigers some love. G-E-A-U-X Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :good!:

Do you give "Fatboy" credit for your enjoyment for the National Championship? My bad, you were probably to young for that.

No, I give Arkansas credit for fumbling the ball in the 4th quarter of that game in Knoxville (I was there - how 'bout you?) thereby allowing Fatboy to pull a miracle win out of his arse and getting us to Atlanta. Not to mention Peerless Price for an fantastic snag in the third quarter which broke the game open for the Vols against Fl State in Tempe. BTW - we stomped FSU in the Fiesta Bowl and truly did play like champions that particular game. And too young for that? Lemme see - grew up with Johnny Ward on 1030AM every Saturday in Jackson, was utterly disgusted with seeing Majors getting booted out of Knoxvegas the way he was by Doug Dickey back in the day and have bled orange from the day I was born in '64. Yeah, guess I'm just a little too young. :birgits_giggle:

Oh, that was 9 years ago that we won the national championship in case you forgot how to count. Not to sound like "what have you done for us lately" but, in modern times, what exactly has Fatboy done for us lately? SEC championships? Hell, even trips to Atlanta? Victory over Florida? Go do the math...............................

Best game we've played since 2001 Florida.

What about the Michigan game that same year? After the loss to LSU, they imposed their will.

Best 1st half maybe, but we've played several of those really well. The defense not softening up was the only difference.
