Great article...I feel much better now. Fear is being replaced by anger for those individuals targeting UT....:censored:

The NY Slimes is part of the liberal media who routinely makes up stories to fit their agenda. There are at least 2 reporters who were fired when they were outed for this practice. I believe one was a Pulitzer Prize winner. They will go to any length to further their agenda.

The article had a calming effect on my heart. But the problem is now it is all over the net. People don't care about the truth anymore. ESPN, FOX SPORTS etc... just put out a story. No investigation by their people. Just like the last big story. They all said that the THREE robbed the convenience store. Who cares that the two attempted to rob some guys sitting in a parking lot in their car.

We should all send this link to any email adress you can find on GVX and tell them that this is actually how you report news.

Great work by Clay Travis. You can really see his lawyerly approach to breaking this story down and refuting every point. Thanks for linking, and I do think we need to e-mail this to everyone at the KNS, Mr. SEC, Jimmy Hyams, Tennesseean, etc.

However, it appears he is wrong about hostesses getting NCAA Guideline training, the official statement put out by UT says they do get this training.

Excellent, point-by-point demolition of the NYT non-story. I agree 100% with Clay's conclusion that this is a combination of an SEC coach wanting to throw a wrench in our recruiting machine, and the NCAA wanting to teach CLK his place. Based on what we've seen from Kiffin so far, I betcha dollars to donuts that he finds a way to work this to his advantage in the recruiting game.

amazing the difference between the espn blog/video clips, the clay travis' article, and the new york times. like clay said, the nyt is obviously making this a story instead of a report...as is espn. clay's article is the only one that actually possesses any real reporting, as is evident by his efforts to give the readers any useful information other than UT is under investigation

this investigation no longer has me concerned

There's no such thing as bad publicity. CLK WILL turn this lemon into lemonade. He'll not tuck tail and go to his corner. The article was dead on target.

I actually know a guy who is in Orange Pride, and it sucks that they are getting a bad rap from all of this. They have multiple jobs (especially on gamedays) including getting banners setup for the Vol Walk, and various other activities that happen on/around campus. Yes they have hot girls, but they also have huge ratio of people who apply than get accepted. NYT single handily painted everyone in Orange Pride as having loose morals and their only function is to recruit football players. This is actually incorrect and this isn't even a quarter of what they do. They give campus tours not only to football recruits but also any other interested party in UT. It's downright slanderous what the NYT writers wrote if you ask me.

Also govolsxtra posted on their main page, pictures of recruits with hostesses (all of which they probably have gotten from volnation). This in my opinion is the same type of journalism (if you can call it that, anymore) the NYT writers demonstrated.

Very enlightening read. Very well written. Even easy enough to follow for our troll friends.

Something's very fishy about this. Why the NYT? The NYT could care less about sports, especially southern sports. Somebody is spoon feading this to NYT and with a little creative writing, voila, we have a sensational story.

If this amounts to nothing and some rival SEC coach/school was behind this stunt, I'd think Slive would be very unhappy with them.

Here is another mistake he made.

"Tennessee knew nothing of this review, until they were contacted last night by the newspaper. "

According to the release they know they are under investigation.
