I am in love with the attitude of all these new recruits. I can't pick a favorite, I love how they are recruiting for Tennessee.

After reading that article, I'm so excited for UT football for the first time in 5 years! I'm really happy with bUTch and our entire coaching staff. I can't believe Hurd's at 6'3" and 232lbs now! Beast!!!

As for the timing of the decision, Hurd said it was more about being able to help recruit other players to Tennessee than eliminating a distraction.

“I want to be able to help get other players to come be a part of the ‘rise and grind,’” Hurd said. “Coach Jones believes in getting the best from this state to come to Knoxville. His philosophy is, ‘If you’re not getting the best players from your own state, how can you expect guys from other states to come here?’ I want to be a part of Tennessee’s uprising.”

Boom

As for playing in front of 100,000-plus fans on Saturdays? That atmosphere is another reason why Hurd chose Tennessee.

“The game day experience is insane,” Hurd said. “You just want to pinch yourself when you’re in Neyland Stadium, when they run out through the ‘T’ and all those fans are screaming; it’s incredible. I remember going there when I was little, and I told myself that I was going to do that one day.”

Now, Hurd wants others to come on board with him.

“I’m going to be beating down the doors of other recruits, letting them know the reasons why I committed, why Wharton and Kelly committed and why they should commit, too,” Hurd said. “I hope that my decision will help others see that Tennessee is going to be a team they will want to play for.”

Hurd believes that he’s going to a team that will be on the upswing very soon.

Boom

The UT and CBJ and staff will be a force to be reckoned with a lot sooner than many thought. I am stoked for the future of the UT football program. I truly believe it is in great hands.

“I really wanted to go to UT,” Hurd said. “Last year, they weren’t in such a good position for me to go there, but with Coach (Butch) Jones and the new staff, I think it’s the best place for me to go.”

Telling quote.

I would say his forty time has gone up alittle since he added 20 pounds but if it didn't then :pepper::yahoo:

Indeed it is! Unbelievable how incompetent the last coach was. I really don't blame the staff that was here with him...they follow his lead. Better days ahead! GBO!

The more I see and the more I read the more excited I get about bUTch & this class. This snowball is rolling downhill and gaining rapid speed!! I look for a few more major commitments in the next week or so.

After reading articles on each of our current recruits, I am truly impressed at how well they express themselves and the detail in which they made their descision. These assuredly are not thugs with talent. They represent themselves well and in turn will be great leaders for UT. Butch is recruiting talent but talent enclosed with character.

Go big orange!
