Last season UGA and USC barely beat us and we didnt have Hunter and Bray was hurt in the UGA game. I'm not worried about either this season. Bammer on the other hand, no Trent Richardson and some of their best defenders gone, who knows. I just cant wait till Aug 31st!!!!

It's all about the O-line and was last year as well. If your blocking scheme is proven, which it wasn't last year, and your O-line is strong and quick enough; you can control the game. You may not win if you don't have all the weapons you need or have too many turnovers, but you give yourself a better chance in every game you play. There were 8 games they had a real chance to win last season. Picture an offense where you knew you would get a minimum of 3 yards on every run and first downs 90% of the time on 3rd or 4th and less than a yard. They would have controlled the clock better and gave the D more rest. Result - go to a bowl game and a good shot at a winning season.

That's what needs to return and it sounds like they are starting to understand.

I'm not a proponent of violence, but PLEASE let these players feel like being mean and violent! I just didn't see it last year.

Yep. Really the whole game is about the line of scrimmage, even in the modern NFL where it's about passing a lot you have to protect/pressure the QB.

Why does Bullard have to "trick his mind" to be physical? What is his mind's natural inclination? To be soft? I'm not encouraged.

I agree talking about it doesn't mean much if you don't actually do it. But at least the right mindset is there. I'm not so sure we could have said that last year. Maybe they'll be so fed up of hearing how soft they were last year that they'll take that anger out on the opposition and actually put somebody on their butt this year.

Not exactly sure, but my interpretation was that "trick" was used in the sense of "prepare." When you're playing a sport, especially one as physical as football, it's essential to prepare yourself beforehand of how physical or intense you're going to be. Maybe he just meant that they're going to have to prepare themselves better mentally and place more emphasis on being "violent" and "physical." Jmo
