Great perspective from Mike Keith

Mike sounds like Kermit the frog.
I've never been a Mike Kieth fan. Couldn't stand him when he was with the Titans. When Bob retired the first words out of my mouth to anyone was please lord don't hire Mike. Oh well. Can't always get your way, just won't ever listen to a broadcast anymore. TV or nothing now. I used to listen to Ward instead of tv he was so great.

We are in the minority, but I agree. Wilkerson on the call for bball is a masterclass. That’s who I wanted for bball. I had to listen to the Houston game Im the car and he and Hamer crushed it.

Keith’s sports radio program in Knoxville was really good. I think he does a great job in football. He definitely needs experience in basketball. I agree, Wilkerson is great.

I agree the Vols have gotten better asa team. #4 is the most improved player over the season. He was getting burnt in early games but has played much better as of late. Vols will take care of business Saturday.

Baptism by fire for Redmond but he’s coming into his own. He’s going to be a legit DB for us.

Just remember he is a true freshman. Going from guarding high wideouts to full blown SEC talent is a bit overwhelming I am sure.

Wow I never knew Mike Keith had haters. Dude is the definition of knowledge and class but to each his own.
Bob Kesling had both those things and had “haters”. I am not a “hater”, I just don’t think he’s great at bball and he wasn’t my choice for football but it doesn’t really bother me either. I don’t have to listen, so it’s not a big deal. He’s fine, Im just not among those that thinks he’s great. It’s subjective.

Got ya. I haven’t heard him call a Vols bball game yet. Kesling was definitely better at basketball than football. But as it relates to football, Kesling is not even in the same ball park as Keith as far as personality and preparation imo.

Not only that, but it blows my mind that the Kessling hate has morphed. For a while, it seemed that the mood here was "anybody is an upgrade over Kessling", and here we go. I listen to wivk in the stadium and don't really see a problem. Kessling wasn't Ward, Keith isn't Ward. Ward set the bar pretty high and honestly - it's been so long now since '98, newer generations don't understand the Ward hype. It's hard to understand his greatness by just listening to random soundbites of his calls rather than listening to a whole game. Those who lived through it know, but honestly that ship sailed into the sunset. Understanding that, you realize Kessling had big shoes to fill that were unfillable. I was good with Kessling and I'm good with Keith. Keith's sidekick, Ramon Foster has a pretty good handle on the game. He spots things in formations and shifts and isn't some goofy sidekick like some of these other schools have.

This is all about one’s preference. Why is jt a big deal if someone prefer’s a different play by play person and style? Doesn’t make a person a “hater”. People have different opinions and preferences. Not everyone has to bow. Keith is fine, Im not anti-Keith, just not my cup of tea or top choice. I don’t dislike the guy. It’s really okay.
