Great Moments in TN history

Here are a few to get you started:

Here is a compilation video of a few plays that beautifully illustrates why Condredge Holloway was “The Artful Dodger.” YouTube - ‪Is It A Tennessee Vols Myth? Condredge Holloway - The Artful Dodger‬‏

Only a handful of single-game performances by a Tennessee running back equaled, let alone surpassed, that of Travis Stephens vs. Florida in 2001. Chuck Webb’s game against Arkansas in the 1990 Cotton Bowl was one such performance. Webb ran for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a 79-yard jaunt. This 50-minute video tribute to Neyland, hosted by the legendary Lindsey Nelson, is old and grainy but it is still a superb walk down memory lane and an excellent historical overview of our founding father’s career. YouTube - ‪General Robert Neyland "The Man and the Legend"‬‏

For a singular, spontaneous and electrifying roar of the crowd, few moments in my lifetime of watching the Big Orange match Condredge Holloway’s slow, triumphal return to the field in the 1974 UCLA game, which occurred in the aftermath of what was originally feared to be a separated shoulder. One of the sweetest victories in the last quarter century was the utter annihilation of a supremely talented, but thug-riddled, Miami team in the 1986 Sugar Bowl, 35-7. This was a day when heart, desire and team unity laid waste to a “superior” opponent. For those of you who are too young to remember, this song, which received a lot of air play the week before the game, was truly prophetic. YouTube - ‪Battle of New Orleans 1986 Sugar Bowl‬‏ . One of the most exciting games in Tennessee football history and perhaps the single most significant come-from-behind win, “The Miracle at South Bend” was the stuff of which legends are made. YouTube - ‪"Miracle at South Bend"‬‏

First Tennessee Memory. I was there with my dad.

YouTube - ‪OH MY GOODNESS!!!‬‏

I can remember this game so well. It looked like close to 1/3 of the stadium had left when Stoerner fumbled and within 2 mins the tunnels were flooded with people trying to get back into the stadium. I can remember walking out of the stadium that night knowing we had Vandy, UK, and whoever won the west between us and a chance at a to play for it all and literally thinking "We have got a real shot here to play for a National Championship"

Great to be a Vol and GBO!

Beating undefeated Penn State 31-11 in 1971 is timeless.
Pounding Michigan 45-17 in the Citrus Bowl was sweet but really, we were the best team in thecountry that year...shatting the bed vs LSU in the SEC title game cost us a spot in the national championship game.
Beating a great Ohio State team in the Citrus Bowl was very nice.
The last second TD & 2PT conversion to tie Georgia in 1968 was unforgettable.
Two games tie for top honors though, beating UCLA in 1965 and Alabama in 1967 are my two favorites.
