took our foot off of the gas the 2nd half? I mean this in a constructive way not being negative. I know we ran the ball to take up clock but I did not want a South Car. comeback from Arky. How did you feel about us playing it safe?

I think playing it safe was the way to go. We knew they had little semblance of a passing game and they weren't going to comeback as long as we didn't give up any big plays on special teams or turned it over.

looking back on it now, i agree, but at the time, i had the same feeling FV had. it was just hard for me to get my head around putting this game in the hands of our defense and playing keep away....

in the end, it was the game plan to do what they did, they executed it, and it worked. that's what you want to be able to say after every game, right?:thumbsup:

We've always played that way...at least that's all I can remember us doing as long as Fulmer and Cut have been coaching together.

Should we pull an Urban Meyer and get our starters hurt.

Or be like Oklahoma St every week where NO lead is safe.

Fulmer knows how to hold a lead. He's done it for years. Carolina was the rare exception.

He needs to be careful with THIS defense tho. But they were fresh going into the second half this week.

OH.........goes way farther back that that. That was Majors..modus aperindi (sp) as long as I remember..! Afraid CPF got infected by that yrs. ago!!
