I hope I'm wrong, and if I am I'll be the happiest wrong fan in the history of sports, but this class is making me feel queasy right now. Hopefully Butch is a more astute judge of talent than the "experts."
wake up. We are still on Ky level. We are 11 and they are 13. We suck and will continue sucking. We are at the bottom and that is where we will remain. Tennessee is done! Don't be queasy, you should be down right sick! Why are you queasy? A top 25 recruiting class? A top QB prospect, WR, some good defensive talent and most of it has been done in a short time by a new staff. Sure its not top in the SEC but lets fast it, over the last few years we have fallen to near Kentucky levels on the field and the 98' NC is all but forgotten. Things will make a turn around and this class is the beginning.
Let's be realistic! For as far back as I can remember, Tennessee has never had a #1 football recruiting class. Florida, FSU, Alabama, Notre Dame, Texas to some extent, Georgia, South Carolina(in the past 6 years), Auburn, USC(w) and Michigan, Ohio State have mostly always been ahead of us in recruiting. I've seen many recruiting shows on ESPN, SportsSouth etc. where Tennessee was never mentioned or only mentioned in an "also-ran" context.......regardless of who the HC is or was. Only time, not the number of stars, will tell whether this is a "good" class or a GREAT class. GBO!
I can't believe some of the people on here. Scratch that, I can believe it. The expectations from some of these fans has gotten to the point of delusion. I'm happy with this class and comforted by the fact that we were in on a bunch of recruits when we had no business being in the discussion. Now Butch can focus on getting things right on the field, which is what I'm most concerned about. IMO, it's a great day to be a Vol!
Some of you people need think about what you are saying about our newest Vols. We missed on a couple of big names but that does not give anyone any reason to be labeling this class a failure before they ever even play a game. Maybe we have a staff that can actually coach them up now. Nobody knows until we play a game. Let's get behind our Vols and show them our support. Go Vols!
